I can't help but feel that a dog has so many chances to bond before they just don't try anymore. First start out the gate, if wishes were horses would be the only one, straight from Mama to a new home that will cherish them until they day they cross the bridge. When they are returned for not being quite right, or a good fit, or for any reason other than a health reason that would be on the breeder for letting them go in the first place, that first chance is robbed from them. Not saying that a dog won't bond again, or even again after that, but I have met too many 3 and four time "losers" not saying the dog is the loser, but the people they came across sure were thinking that a puppy or dog would fit like a puzzle piece and they don't right off the bat. OR the can't handle the now seperation anxieties that have been created by succeeding losses. Making the dog all the harder to place. Each time, less trust, each time, less chance of having that miracle to me of partnership. THEy end up being their own dog, and most people are not looking for that, they are looking for just about the opposite. I wish i had a magic wand to put over all the babies that they have the best luck ever and are received with adoring, patient, and common sense arms. I could like people a whole lot more if that was the case. This puppy has been cheated of round one. I pray with all my heart that round two, will be the opposite.
