AHA! Grace, you really DO need a Fila in your future . . . Just the thing to keep your BCs happy and amused, as Filas will carefully plan out and CAUSE extremely complex problems . . .
Can't you just picture Ripley and a Fila plotting trouble while Dakota the good-boy and his BC pack just glare disapprovingly at them?

I really can't wait for that kind of order in the house, though, i need that reliable dog that keeps all the troublemakers in check.. LOL. As of right now Dakota's going through the teenage/adult transition, and some days that "control freak" behavior of an adult working Border Collie kicks in, and he keeps Ripley (and any other dogs I may have roaming about the house - I tend to open my house to strange dogs quite often.) in check, makes sure he doesn't break any rules. And other days I swear he's helping Ripley/other dog misbehave, sometimes even joining in whatever they're doing.. (I remember once the fun for the day was "pee on the UPS delivery box" I just happened to have 4 dogs in the house that all wanted to copy the one who started it. )

Ever since getting Max, Anatolian Shepherd, we say the same thing. I just couldn't imagine not having one around.

Hm... after having Sam, I don't think I will ever be without a bullmastiff. I was going to always have dobies in my life, but Blue was so special I don't think that he will ever be able to compare to another dog. I love Bouviers, too. I'm not sure if I will always have a rottie in my life. I like to switch my breeds up. I would really love to own a Maremma Sheepdog. Well... let's see.

Tessa- Boxer- would love to have another one of those
Angus-LabXGolden- He was awesome, I would def. take in another mutt.
Blue-Doberman- One of the most special dogs ever.
Harley-Bouvier des Flandres- Mischevious, a challenge.
Sam-Bullmastiff- One of the best dogs I've ever owned. Will def. always own a bullmastiff.
Dakota-Kuvasz- Although not with me for a long time, he was special
Lemon-Rottweiler- I don't think I'll have another one of these. Lemon is a great dog though.

 I CAN'T DECIDE!!

The funny part would be watching them try to herd each other - the initial stare down, then . . . Filas are a bit, shall we say, more proactive with their herding techniques than the Collie breeds  :D

When I was younger we had a black and a brown newf and loved them to pieces!! My grandparents also had black and brown newfs. They are awsome dogs, but I don't like to the maintenance of caring for long haired dogs, otherwise they too would be at the top of my list. For me, I will have to say a bullmastiff. When I was still living at home my dad got a bullmastiff, that ended up being my brothers. My parents sold their house to my brother (kinda neat, he lives in the house we grew up in!) Anyway, he kept Zeke and that was the best, friendliest, laziest and most protective dog we have ever had. Can't wait to get my little guy!!!! :)

Aussies. Will always have one...they're such adorable clowns! It's going to be interesting to see what my pack of herding breeds does to each other: Aussies, Rough collies, border collies, rotties, old english sheepdog...

I wonder if all Aussies like to play referee as much as Sawyer does?

I'm so excited for you Jamie!

Of course (I bet this is obvious) I will always have a Cocker in my life. A lot of people frown at this, because they aren't the popular pups they used to be, but honestly, the breed is just a perfect match for me and my lifestyle.
I'm trying to be more open about Shih Tzu's too, though. Talking to Shih Tzu owners (of well breed Shih Tzu's that don't have 'issues' like Car-Car lol)
I love Shelties, but I don't think I could ever own one again. It sounds extreme, but maybe I'll change my mind in a couple years. Yes, I actually had a quiet Sheltie!
Right now I'm going through a really bad faze of craving a Beagle, lol. So far I'm holding out pretty good. Lord help me if there is a beagle that needs to be rescued or fostered in my area!
