10 Reasons why Gay Marriage is "wrong".

1) Being gay is not natural. Real people always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in the world.

9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans
All in good fun. Not meant to offend those who are anti-gay marriage.

I have been hearing a lot about this issue lately. Many people who were pretty quiet over the last 8 years while our freedoms were being stripped from us are now crying for liberty at the top of their lungs. They also seem to want to throw in this gay marriage thing condemning it. They want liberty for themselves, not for anyone who may have a different way of life. Two types of people should be controlled, those who want to be and those who want to control others.

That pretty much sums it up. Trouble is, both of those types seem to believe that the rest of us should be included in their number, whether we want to or not.

I think there's a fundemental problem with people just not minding their own business.. I couldn't care less if gay people want to get married, good for them.. I think the most important thing is being happy, be it with the same sex, different sex, or even with vegetables..

Why do people always feel the need to voice their opinions? Sometimes it's just better to put up and shut up!

Love is love at the end of the day.. It comes in all shapes and sizes, and colours.

I bet their marriages last longer !
You do? Amoung homosexual men, only 12% of marriges make it beyond the first year. You have two vessles of testosterone there. No stabilising force. Monogomy is not too high on the list. I am speaking as a HUGE gay rights campaigner. My best friend who is like a brother to me, is gay and he is very promiscuous in a relationship. Just saying that their marriges fail just like ours do, or last just like ours do.

Here are various stats I found:

The survey revealed a high rate of legal divorce among homosexual couples in Sweden. Gay male couples were 50% more likely to divorce within an eight-year period than were heterosexuals; and lesbian couples were 167% more likely to divorce than heterosexual couples.
Found here: Divorce Rate in Same-Sex Partnerships In Sweden

and this:

3. Gay Break-Up Rates
There are no reliable gay divorce rates worldwide, as not all counties keep track of which divorce filings are from heterosexual and homosexual couples. In Massachusetts, when couples applied for divorce two months after gay marriage was legalized, opponents of gay marriage said the divorces, occurring so soon after the weddings, confirm that gay couples are not suited to marriage. One group stated that the gay men were too 'promiscuous' to make a marriage work.

The national divorce rate in the US is near 50 percent. Gay rights groups argue that mentioning gay divorce is a cheap shot. The gay divorce rate has little to do with gay marriage, as gay divorce is another rights issue.

I couldn't find anything better, so I wait to see where Puppy got her info too :)
