Yea, I see your point Island dog. I guess it's just hard for me to wrap my head around that way of thinking. I'm stubborn but my friends are taking the cake on this one. They're not listening to anyone, and it is their choice. I know they are going to regret it later on. To this day I'm still searching for and/or taking advice from other dog owners. I think you're right though. It's less drama if I just stay out of it.
Sorry, I wasn't suggesting how anyone else should handle a similar situation, just saying this guy isn't going to listen to me. I'm not a knowledgeable dog person, just know a lot more now that I have Molly and joined this forum. When he put his weight on the dogs hind quarters and I commented, he laughed it off.
Just like he gets very angry when the dog doesn't come when he calls him and I suggested he practice calling the dog and rewarding him for coming rather than only calling the dog when he wants/needs the dog to return. He has never taken the dog to any classes and expects the dog to know commands and obey. His parents raised Chiuaua's and he has a wonderful little guy who has changed all of our opinions regarding these great little dogs. He believes he doesn't need to do anything different because he says he's doing things the way his parents did.
Basically, he has a closed mind.
