I've tried. She's just not latching on very well. I take the others away and give her one on one time. So I'm supplimenting her per my vets advise. he'd like to see her take 2 tablesppons from me per day.
Can I say how satisfying and rewarding it is to see her try to eat with me and manage to get some and produce a full belly? her little belly will fill up and look so much better!
I had a pup which the Mom rejected at birth .... I did the clean up etc , but she would latch on either. Took very little food from an eye dropper. Vet thought it was brain damage and we sent her on..........
My Vet delivered her, and she's been back to him twice and we go again on Monday. I'm feeding Mothers 1st Milk. My Vet suggested I supplement her.
I have a 30 year breeder that is feeding 2 pups of her own right now round the clock and has surrogate moms with milk who offered to take her for me, but after discussing with my vet he would like to see her stay with her mom since its only been since Sunday and she is not going downhill.

also, if it has not been done, this puppy should be carefully checked for a cleft palate.
