I agree that snakes are good... but I hate them !!! I usually don't kill them as I'm running too fast the other way !

I don't kill any kind of animals... not even a bug (I'm terrified of them haha)... I used to catch snakes, I don't mind them at all (There are no deadly snakes where I live). If it was poisonous on the other hand, I would call animal control or something to catch it and find it a home.

If someone will relocate them for me, the snakes can live. Otherwise, poisonous ones die in my yard.

If it could get relocated, quickly...fine move it a hundred miles away. But with water moccoasins, copper heads, rattle snakes, and coral snakes...living in my area you are looking at some deadly venom, and possibly painful deaths if not treated promptly.

Water moccasins can cause ganggrene, and a coral snake being a member of the cobra family is deadly...The only thing we lack, sea snakes, some how we lucked out there. I guess alligators make up for that. lol

Years ago my Fox terrier took on a water moccasin and almost died, thank goodness for a good vet. He used to bring me gifts of dead snakes...ewwww

Well, Everyone pretty much knows my opinion, if they are close enough to be in direct contact, and are close enough to cause my and my family just the "chance" of being bitten they are killed...Keep in mind, I am only referring to poisoness snakes, Black snakes, and garter snakes are relocated...

I honestly could not tell a poisonous snake apart from one that's not. If I'm with someone who knows alot about snakes and would put a harmless one in my hand, I would not mind....but me being by myself and not knowing: I'm sorry, that snake will die. We have rattle snakes around my area...I live right at a lake...and I'm not taking any chances.

Bring'em on!!! I've got a long lens and I'm not afraid to use it! And if it means I don't need to leave the lawn chair to photograph it, all the better!!!

(sadly, nothing venomous here - though some scientists believe the saliva of a garter snake is mildly toxic to small animals :D

I've never seen anything more than a black snake in our yard, and they are harmless (altho some can be quite big and scarey looking) I'm more afraid of spiders and hornets than I am of snakes. Dave HATES rodents and snakes..LOL one day I was in the garage painting when a snake wandered in. boy was I glad he wasn't home....I just scooted it back out with the broom. :) I'd kill a dangerous one, tho.....there are copperheads in our area.

Andrew. Breath taking picture. What a gorgeous animal! So pretty!

I say let them live. I could not kill and animal because it is near me. I am on it's land not the other way around.

I remember that...his Rottie had two bites from a water moccasin, and died... when he wasn't home.

I suggested he get a few king snakes and put out to deter and kill the moccasins...boy did I get flamed by several people.
