Were this me and had a dog saved Hunters life there would be very little I would do to ensure he did not go to a shelter.

First choice would be to keep him myself if that were out I would try to foster him myself until a home was found, if that was not feasible (landlord would not allow it) I would get in touch with every single person I know and see what they could do. If someone worthy of this creature could give him a forever home wonderful, if someone could only foster I would assist with all his care until his forever home was found..I would do everything in my power to ensure that under no circumstances he went to a shelter.

I featured this story on my blog when it originally happened. Then someone replied, saying the woman had gone back on her word. I've tried to find him on the website for the new rescue he want to, but I cannot find him. I emailed them to ask about his status and if I could have some info to post him on my page, but I never got a reply.
Does anyone here know if he had been adopted? I would at least like to see his info up on the site.

My rescue pit "Blue" weights 80 pounds right now, so it may just be a big, poorly bred pit bull.

Very possible. However, American Bulldogs are actually often lumped into the "pit bull" category as their is no such breed as a "pit bull", rather it's just a now-generic term to describe several different breeds and/or a type of dog.

People breeding pits on the street are always trying to make them bigger. Look at those "Professional" pit bull breeders, they've gotten their dogs up to 150lbs with 30" heads!

All I know is that the dog in question that is suspected to be the "Angel," is adorable! If I were in different circumstances, I'd consider adopting him myself.
