This remarkable dog saved this woman and toddler from injury or even death. However; she reneged on her promise to adopt him if no one claimed him. Out of the glare of publicity, she left him at the shelter to be euthanized/ KILLED...some gratitude, right? Fortunately rescue workers in Florida contacted a rescue group in Minneapolis, MN and this brave bully boy was transported to Midwest Animal Rescue Services in Minneapolis, MN. He is currently being treated for heartworms but will be available soon. He STILL needs and deserves a forever home. If anyone is interested in adopting him, fostering him or even sending a donation to offset the cost of his transportation and continuing medical bills, he can be found at:

I think so too, Renee. I can't believe she would do that. If I weren't heading out for Basic in January I'd take him, but I don't think Aaron could handle another dog by himself. :(

That's . . . well, maybe her landlord wouldn't allow it . . . still, how horrible. I'm glad the rescue is getting him.

If she reneged on her promise to adopt she probably wasn't a good home to begin with. If I was in a position that I could take him I would. I hope that he finds the home he deserves.

I realize the story is quite romantic but...

I'm not going to judge this woman for going home and thinking things thru and not making an impulse decision, since I do not know the full story.

hope the dog will find a home that will keep him properly and happily.

That was my first thought ... maybe the woman is a renter and landlord/landlady won't allow the dog? A few articles on the original story identified the woman as a "single Mom with a toddler". Many single mothers live in rented apartments ... so perhaps that's why she could not adopt the dog.

I do hope it's not that she just didn't want him, as he seemed to pick her and her child as the family he had wanted. :(

The current report seems to focus on the injustice of "pit bull saves woman, woman leaves him at shelter" ... but in a sensationalistic, "sound byte" way. We really don't know the full story behind it.

I do sort of think her decision to adopt the dog was kind of rash and there was no thought to it, chances are they were not prepared for the dog and after thinking it through decided this was not the time. Of course trying to get him to a rescue or no kill shelter would have been a better thing to do. I'm glad he's at one now and will get a wonderful home!

I understand if she later realized she couldn't have/didn't want a dog, but I would think she could have done *something* to help him find a home other than leave him at a kill shelter....
Well no one knows the whole story now do we

I agree with this too.

BUT........(and maybe she is/does, we don't know) I would make darn sure to visit my "angel" and provide him with any/all I could afford to give until I knew he was in safe hands. Love, all the toys he could want, food, walks, contacting rescues on his behalf........ANYTHING I was able to do for him while he waited for a forever home. My conscience would allow no less, and my gratitude would demand it.

That would include you, no? If you have some other information to counter what was posted then please, share it.

Going from the info I have I stand by what I said. There is no indication that she put any effort at all into helping this dog not be euthed. If new information comes forward, I will be happy to change my opinion. He did what he could to save her and her child's life, and she could do something to save his, especially after she initally promised to give him a home.

nope but nobody else does either so Im not going to go around saying she's a monster that left him to die, especially since nobody really knows why she did what she did...

so unless somebody has any REAL info that says all of a sudden she didnt care and was callous enough to do that then Im not going to say that

Where's all this info coming from?

Where does it say she abandoned him?

I'm actually struggling to find where it said she'll KEEP the dog?
