Have you ever read it? About some incestuous punk king that kills his dad... Then ends up gouging his own eyes out with his mother/wife's pin... It's a barrel of laughs.

Is that loded gun pointed my way yet?? If you don't wanna kill me, you can at least read the story and write my paper! *begs with puppy eyes*

But it's a fascinating read, Ash! I read it more than once - on my own ;)

Wait 'til you get to read Beowulf - and The Canterbury Tales! Good stuff!

Oh, and do you get to read Medea?

Renee... I'm dyin here! I have to come up with an outline by next Thursday after I choose what topic I want to write on from Oedipus... Make a recording for the school radio interviewing someone, not a current student, on a subject to do with college, and study for an upcoming Psych test... Somebody give me a hug!

Medea? Love, betrayal, greed, vengeance . . . .

Medea is Jason's (the Argonaut) wife. She helped him win the Golden Fleece from her father, who did his best to get Jason killed (but that's another story for another day), and in doing so, was forced to leave her home, royal position and family. She became Jason's wife and bore him two children.

Some years later, Jason decides to set her aside and marry a younger wife.

Medea is understandably and royally pissed.

And payback is a bitch ;)

Oedipus...what a motherf***ker he was.

;)

Hey, I actually like Beowulf. I'm reading Moby Dick right now of my own free will and it's a lot better and easier to read than I thought. However, this comes after years of deconstructing Shakespeare and peers, so Melville is a walk in the park compared to that.

I really like Barbie Doll and Mirror. I think they both really personify today's view of beauty. Both are very symbolic and I love to dig for the meanings.

Yeah, I'm afraid I'm out of the loop on the thoroughly modern stuff. Give me pre-1900 and I'm all in!
