I am back from Lucas' back x-rays. The verdict isn't good at all.
I did send the x-rays to a radiologist in Tacoma and he will make a detailed list about everything he sees o the x-rays! Should get that on Monday.
Um, I don't remember everything he said, but what I remember exactly was there where several vertical (?) steps on his spine. He basically said there are spots where his spine is showing cracks and narrowing of the spina.
He mentioned two conditions I remember thinking about, both I can't remember the darn names to. One started with a C and it was on the website someone gave me about malamute conditions. The other I've completely forgotten. I know.
But basically we would have to do an MRI to find out the exact cause of the faults and narrowing, which is at least $1200. Then possibly surgery if it is something that surgery could help. I don't have the money to pay for an MRI and surgery and I don't think I want to put Lucas through any more anesthesia.
So basically, anti-inflammatory medications and acupuncture is what I'm hoping to do. If it's the one with the C I believe it said it will progress forward along his spine until he's completely paralyzed.
Either way, basically I can't do much other than try to help the pain/mobility. So basically, this is the end of trying to find out what it is. We will just take each day at a time and try to make him as comfortable as possible.
IDK, I kinda spaced out during listening to him. All I could think of was "there's nothing I can do for him" *cries*
