I must say that most of our crimes here are over drugs and 1/2 of those arrested are not citizens.

Drugs laws do little to deter drugs, yet it is still on the books.

Murder is illegal, yet it happens.
Also personally unafected when the laws change...

Are you saying we should NOT secure our borders and let the government continue to violate our civil rights instead?
Yeah...right...that's exactly what I'm saying...it's written right up there with my proposal for removing the bill of rights and converting our society ot socialism...

I dont think it is fair to the children who are brought here when it wasnt their choice. Their parents brought them here for something better, yet they cant have the same opportunities as the people they grew up with. I feel bad for some of them. But one of them was one of my best friends, very smart and hard working student and would have done awesome if she could have gone to a university, but couldnt get the financial help she needed. She did go to a jr. college and then she is planning to work and get her citizenship so she can then go to a university. But its not fair she couldnt get it before she was 18. Yet her brother who was BORN in the US refused to speak english when he moved to the town i lived in when we were in 6th grade, not cuz he couldnt. His sister BORN in Mexico spoke perfect English. He did not do well in school, bottom of the class. She was in the National Honor Society. She went to college. He did not.

I dont understand the big deal. But I havent really looked into it much. But I believe they a have a lot more important things to worry about, like murder, drugs, rape, etc. If they are caught doing stuff like that, deport them, if they dont hurt anything then why?

Well, if you keep making blanket statements, this is what you are going to get. LOL

Blanket statements? What? You've yet to tell me how the attacks having been made by people here legally have anything to do with increased penalties for illegal immigration...

If I lived in squaller, close to a land with much better opportunities I would be climbing fences as well. If I didnt speak the language and at best had a third grade education I would be a bit thrown off by the whole legal process.

Personally, I would rather do away with all social programs for everyone. Then people who want to come here and contribute are welcomed. Those looking for a free ride will be SOL. I still believe in what the Statue of Liberty has inscribed at her base.

I have found in construction fields that Mexican labor out performs typical American labor by leaps and bounds. If someone from another country can come in and do my job cheaper and better than I can, he deserves it.

I am a legal citizen of the US because I was born here. I didnt have to do anything special to earn the right. I dont consider myself any better or more entitled to a good life than someone from a poorer nation.

as an alien/immigrant of the legal variety, I can tell you I get HIGHLY frustrated when Im denied of many things, given the run around, treated like fresh monkey poo because Im not a citizen and because there are the illegal variety spoiling it for the rest of us

BAH!

That is all

That and I also disagree with the church thing. Churches are beyond borders, checking IDs at the soup kitchen is RIDICULOUS

well kinda sad that atleast 30K personeel in the Army are illegal (and if they won't discharge them) If they followed by the book it would be false enlistment or morale disqualification if it was before they graduated Basic Training. I been to the recruiters office and they don't check the documents. they use the documents to verify age but they don't call the specific agencys.

Glad to see some action being taken against the illegals. Anyways, wow for a dog forum you guys like to stir the pot.
