Everyone was made fun of for something. I'm sorry that you have had so many ill-spirited people make fun of your sight. I don't know how anyone finds that funny.
However, I think that people need to take jokes with the spirited that was intended.
Buckshot was obviously not making fun of people with poor vision. If he was then I think many people would have been offended. I've had crappy sight all my life. I've worn glasses since elementary school and have been teased a lot. Kids are merciless. If it wasn't glasses (and then braces) it would have been something else. That doesn't mean I can't laugh at jokes about people with glasses/braces. But if I saw someone mocking kids (or anyone) I would be offended and speak up for them. I don't see how buckshot was being insensitive at all.

LOL. My friend's dog ate a whole from the laundry room to the kitchen where he was then "free at last!".
But on the other side, I've treated many a 'pit bull' for owners who thought their dogs would never get into a fight. It happens and when you've got 1 dog that's got something telling it to "win" and another that's trying to get the young whipper-snapper into line, then you've got a train-wreck in your home.
I certainly don't think shes humorless, she just thought that this particular thread wasn't funny.

I understood your thread, i got the joke and thought it was pretty funny, but I don't think people that didn't get it should be treated that way.. just my 2 cents.

Personally, I thought it was amusing.. A bit of lighthearted humour, that doesn't really hurt anyone.. Man if we can't laugh at ourselves then we spend the WHOLE time all wound up.
I laugh at my own ridiculousness DAILY! Does it mean that I fly totally off the handle every time someone takes the mickey? NO WAY!
It wasn't directed at anyone specific so I can't see how it's a slurr.. Now if he'd said.. "Hey you, blind person, you're rubbish because you can't see" I could see how someone would take offence..

Ok, so maybe he has had a tact bypass.. But at least you know where you are with him..
I am much more comfortable with people who actually SAY what they mean, rather than getting into a convaluted, he said, she said, and finally ending up by all agreeing and congratulating each other on their greatness, and then hugging furiously..
I only wish there were more people who would have the balls to say exactly what they meant!

I was made a Mod because the women needed some eye candy not for my fear of walking on feelings. This post made fun of my vision issue, no one elses. I'm glad you thought it was funny, that is the effect I was after. I think people take themselves way too serious and that leads to hurt feelings. I am a bit overweight, white, male, had zits as a kid, been in lots of trouble, was beat up by a bunch of girls once, was beat up by someone smaller than me once, my knees have failed, my back has failed, I'm poorly educated, I dont have much money, I'm getting old and yes even my vision is starting to go south. Feel free to laugh at any of that and I'll be right there with ya!
Go easy on the mods for deleting stuff, they were probably saving a member from really getting their feelings hurt.
