You know what really ticks me off... a member of the sheriffs department lives down that off shoot of a street with the mega steep hill. He had a huge rottie... and don't get me wrong.. that is probably hands down my favorite breed and I've owned several over the years. Well, I discovered tonight that he lets that dog roam free. I was just heading down that hill when I heard the barking and Jake came running back up the hill and said "go back". I had visions of that dog coming up and starting a dog fight because it was barking like crazy and coming toward us. I grabbed Lola and we walked very fast past the street. Then on the way back from the end of our road I had TJ wait up the top of the hill with both dogs so I could walk down the hill and back up for extra calorie burning.

I would never let my dog just roam the neighborhood. Especially not a rottie. In this neck of the woods they'll shoot a dog like that and ask questions later. And shame on him, he's in law enforcement and he should know better. I think we even have a leash law in our county. I should be able to walk my dogs in my own neighborhood!!

tiger balm, never heard of that...

i DO know anything with MINT will realy help those aching calves. i use essential peppermint carried in massage oil and just work it in there, mint is very cooling and relaxing for aching overtired muscles.

tomorrow try a shorter walk (keep up with the excersize, but dont push quite as hard, too much too soon can be detrimental) personally i started out walking 1 mile for 2 days then did yoga stretches on day 3 and some light weights (i started with a couple cans of peas in plastic bags and did reps with them lol) repeate 2 days walk 1 day stretch and light weights...i found this kept me in the "excersize mode" without making me so sore i couldnt move...

its OK to take your time, in the beginning youll see results fairly quickly if you havent realy excersized before...even a little excersize is more than before so better for you, i know you want it gone and like NOW, but just remember sometimes you can push yourself Over the top and into a rut.

im with you on the lift and tuck thing...i moisturize ALOT and have noticed my skins not as saggy as i thought it would be at this point and the stretchmarks i had that were once burning red are now barley visable (sugar exfoliating scrub when showing plus a collegen elastain body wash, after shower while still wet baby oil then once dry (try and air dry) a body or cocoa butter moisturizing with deep kneeding into celulite type areas...ive found this has realy helped with dimpling and keeping the skin happy...
i WILL need a brest LIFT though, even with size going up theve been through hell and fast increase has lead to saggy chest syndrom and at only 23 that doesnt make me happy lol. so ive started putting coins into the "body lift jar"

i think we can realy help eachother power through this so if youd like ill keep updating from now on on here too!

ive been told when you plateau you should cut more cals and do more excersize by almost everyone, but when i talked to a guy at the gym (i got a free consultation) he suggested (hed lost 300lbs before becomming a personal trainer) that it may be ive cut too many calories and my body is in worry mode at this point, instead up the calories a little for 2 weeks then go back to the calories im on now, it should jumpstart the body, kind of like a reset...
ive read up on this method and it seems to work (and make sense) especially for me because im only on 12-1400 cals a day so by cutting more id be moving into the dangerous not enough calories area.

so i want a professioanl consultation first...and will move from there.

Okay.... I've been stuck at 330 pounds for several days now and I've increased my activity and decreased my calories... bla, bla, bla. I have a ritual of getting up in the morning and of course going pee first, then I weigh myself naked before I get in the shower. Yeah, I know... what an awful visualization ....lol.

Well, this morning I woke up late. I woke up at 11:10am and I had a 12 noon appointment that was at least 20 minutes away and I was suppose to be there early to fill out the papers you have to fill out when it's your first appointment.

So, I jump out of bed and run to the potty and as my shower was heating up I jumped on the scale and it said 327 pounds. I was thinking  how can that be when I just weighed 330 yesterday. So, I stepped off and let it reset and got back on. Same thing... 327. I must have done that 3 or 4 times until I finally decided I weighed 327 now. It brought a huge smile to my face and I was so excited and couldn't wait to tell TJ who was already on his way home to pick me up for the appointment.

I managed to swallow my vitamins and a protein drink on the way out the door and went and had my appointment. Well, I have no idea why... but I got home and got on that stupid scale again. Only this time I was fully dressed but no shoes on. It said ERROR  That means I weighed over 330.

I know your weight can fluctuate day to day and I suppose even hour to hour in some circumstances. But how on earth could I gain over 3 pounds in 2 hours when all I had was 8 ounces of a protein drink??? I don't know whether to assume I really did lose an additional 3 pounds when I weighed this morning or to assume I really still weigh between 330 and slightly above.

I just ate a grapefruit and I'm drinking my water. I guess no matter what I weigh right now I have to just move forward and keep doing what I am doing because something seems to be working. I still in the back of my mind think I lost those 3 pounds because like I said.....I usually weigh myself right after I wake up and go pee.

NANCY! You have GOT to stop weighing yourself so often unless you can come to terms with fluctuations!!

Scales may not always be accurate as well...

You do fluctuate a lot...and it is totally normal. I always have weight ranges as well, usually a good 5lb range over 2 days. Clearly clothes make a difference too...

Try only weighing yourself once a week or something!

I can't stop weighing myself everyday... I'm addicted :yikes: But if I'm fluctuating from 327 to 330 or slightly above... then that's way better than fluctuating from 330 to probably 332 or slightly above. I know that 327 is the lowest I've ever weighed in the past probably 7 years or so.

So, maybe I'm still on the trend of the weight coming off. It's just taking longer than I have the patience for. I guess I'm just sooooo excited about losing weight that I want more and more to come off. I really can't do anymore exercise than what I am doing and I can't cut any more calories than I've cut... I'm already borderline not taking in enough fat and calories. But I feel good.... I don't have cravings. For the most part I'm not hungry. If I have that "head hunger" I will go grab some celery with about 2 tablespoons of peanut butter in a cup and just dip my celery in it and that takes care of the head hunger. I'm also drinking my 64 ounces of water a day. In fact... that's all I drink now is yucky water. I haven't had juice, soda or anything except my watered down 1% milk for my shake twice a day. And that milk is so watered down that it is literally probably less than what skim milk would be as far as fat and calories.

I think it will be so much more rewarding for me when I reach a true mile stone with the weight loss.... perhaps a 50 pound weight loss would make a big difference to me. I just can't wait for it to be really noticeable to people and to myself. I can somewhat see some changes in the way my clothes fit and a few people have made comments that I'm losing weight, but it's hard to know if they're saying it because they know I'm trying or because they can truly see it. I want to look in the mirror and be able to say "wow" I notice a big difference. That day will come... it just might take longer than I want it to.

I don't feel like I'm gonna fall off the wagon yet. Hopefully I won't fall off the wagon at all. But if I do... I want you guys to hold me accountable. I really need this. I will make a promise to myself to admit on here if I've fallen off the wagon so I can take the steps to get back on. But like I said... I'm on the wagon and have no desire to jump off or fall off yet. :D:D

Weigh yourself once or twice a week. That will help you see results easier!!!

Nancy, I'm sure people are noticing it. My dad is on a diet and he's already lost 15 lbs... (he weighs about 360)... at ten pounds, people started noticing and congratulating him. If people are saying something I'm SURE they can see the difference! And if you can feel it, more power to you, girlie!! :D

I am going to cheat a bit tonight. But not too too bad considering it's not fast food. TJ is making his "specialty" cheese burgers on the grill... they are sooo incredibly good. And I had a weak moment when I opened the freezer and saw that big bag of potatoe puffs sitting there. So, I will indulge with a pile of lovely potatoe puffs with my TJ burger and a scoop of green beans for my veggie. But I will drink water, and no butter on my green beans. So... maybe it won't be too terrible. Oh I love potatoe puffs... I can't wait to eat them.. MMMMMmmmmm.

The weather is stormy here tonight so I can't go for a walk. But I think I will just send Jake to the game room so I can do my Richard Simmons dvd after I eat. I don't want him sitting around watching my fat jiggle all over the place...lol. But I gotta do something, it seems to make my muscles feel a bit better when I am more active rather than just sitting there. They were so sore again today. I need to get that tigerbalm stuff and try it. I just haven't had a chance to make it to the store yet.

GNC usually has Tiger Balm.

And yes, you will find that the best way to keep your muscles from being so sore is to exercise them daily!

Instead of a pile of potato puffs, howabout you look at the package, see how many are in a serving, the calorie count in a serving, and put A SERVING on your plate? You'll be amazed at how much it helps to be aware of just exactly what the food value of things really is.

I already looked. And the serving size is a joke. It's 9 potatoe puffs. I am just going to eat how ever many I want and then if I feel I ate too many I will just have to have some extra carricular activities again tonight to burn some additional calories...lol.

I'm thinking if I eat my burger with the green beans.. I won't have that much more room for a huge heaping pile of potatoe puffs, maybe just a small heaping pile..lol. And I won't even use ketchup on them :D And I will sacrifice the mayo on my burger and just put a tad of ketchup or mustard on that.

Hey... can anyone clarify the whole saturated fat verses the total fat content? I know it's the saturated fat that's bad for you. What I get confused about is if I were to count fat calories do I take the total fat amount or just the saturated fat amount?

LOL . . . Nancy . . . try it with the nine ;) There will always be more potato puffs if you really, really want them more than you want to NOT eat them.
I'll try 9 first... but my brain already wants 18 :D I already popped a frozen one in my mouth...lol. I will make it a point to eat extra slow tonight and drink a big glass of water before dinner. In fact, I will do that right now. It will take up some space and maybe not leave as much space for those extra potatoe puffs I really don't need.:D

For a calorie count to be accurate it needs to include calories from ALL sources. I think, too, that you'll find that making things too complicated by calorie sorting will bog you down, Nancy.

But, if you want to keep track of your fat intake, you count fat as fat. Just try to be aware and get more of the good and a lot less of the bad.

I'm reading labels, just to get a ball park of what I'm taking in. But I'm not counting any fat, carbs or calories. I haven't been eating anything high in fat.. so this burger is libel to make me not want burgers again when I'm running for the toilet in a little while..lol.

Tut tut Nancy !!! How about a cup of broth ...add small diced carrot , celery and green onion as a starter . Eat slowly and enjoy !! Then your burger and beans . Eat slowly and enjoy !! Maybe 1/2 a bun ?? Then look at your potatoe puffs and say " Do I need you !?" How do you cook them ??? Do you ever put them on paper towels and watch the fat soak in ???? I know it's hard for you , but don't give up !!!!
