Tut -tut !!! No fries !!! LOL!!! Glad you enjoyed the dinner , but you should have gone Chinese ..... please try to stay away from anything fried !!! Especially when coated in breading etc , Now make up for it !!! You've done so well....don't let Grammy down !
I figured the chinese would have been loaded with hidden calories and fat and they chicken fingers, egg fu yung and egg rolls are all fried... come to think of it.. so isn't the rice..lol.

I really didn't eat many fries.. just a small serving of them. But they were really really good. Not sure if they were so good just because I haven't had them in ages or what..lol. I didn't eat anything breaded and actually.. they serve their meals with texas toast or cornbread and I passed on both of those :D So, the only thing I ate fried were those couple of onion rings I stole from TJ's plate and that handful of fries. I usually never eat fried foods anymore because it goes right through me.. if you know what I mean :yikes:

And I'm sure I'll be paying for my meal later and saying it wasn't worth it..lol

You were right about the Chinese being loaded with hidden calories, Nancy, not to mention the MSG and water retention. If you go with Chinese food you have to be really careful. I love the Chinese place here for lunch - it's cheaper than fast food, and by choosing carefully (a very few pieces of sushi, poached fish, the skewered chicken, and stay away from the stuff in the sauces, the fried rice, or any of the other fried things, or even go the Mongolian grill route) I can have a good, healthy meal that I can sit and enjoy quietly with a pot of hot tea . . . and finish with fruit and a fortune cookie ;)

I have to be aware. I'm one of those people who can pick up weight without thinking about it, plus I had to learn a lot to be successful in bodybuilding. I kept my bodyfat hovering around 10-12% for years. Best part of having that low a bodyfat ratio was NO PERIODS :D

Not much to tell, Nolu, lol . . . you just keep that bodyfat down. You have to eat a LOT to build the muscle, but it has to be the right stuff. I've ingested enough raw eggs to probably kill most people. Nothing with any refined sugars . . . you truly shop the perimeter in the store.

And one of the results of ultra low bodyfat for women is dysmenorhea - an interruption in the menstrual cycle. Supposedly it's not good for you, but I've not had any repercussions from it.

I lost another pound and a half... woo hoo! I'm down to 317 pounds now. I am getting so excited now. I actually pushed myself and did 5000 steps last night at work.. that's over 2 miles, and that's a lot for me. I wanted to go back and see how much I've been averaging a week with the weight loss.. but I'm way to tired to try and figure that out right now. I have to work again tonight, so maybe I can get another 5000 steps in if it's quiet enough. I can't wait to see if I can get below 300 pounds.... that will be a true milestone for me.

I've been struggling these past few weeks with losing weight. Part is probably because I've hit a little plataue and part is because I've been so hungry all the time I've just been eating more in general. I'm not eating junk.. just larger portions than I have been. I'm trying to cut back again and go back to my protein shakes. I think those were really helping me. I have managed to get off another pound. So, I'm at the 40 pound mark now. I wished it was the 50 pound mark already... but I'm not there yet.

It will go like that, Nancy. Think of it like climbing stairs in a building. You climb for a flight or two, then you come to a landing. Sometimes you can charge up right past two or three landings, but at that next one you have to pause and catch your breath. As long as you stay on the landing and don't stop and go into the lobby - or turn around and go back down - you'll keep headed in the direction you want to go :)

Oh one thing I wanted to ask.........Do you drink psyllium before you eat? I do if the meal I am about to have isn't too high in fiber. The psyllium fills me up and keeps me stuffed for at least an hour! LOL

speaking of stairs... I go down two flights to clock in and take the elevator up to the 4th floor because I can't go up that many stairs yet. But when I leave I walk down the 4 flights and clock out and then walk up the 2 flights to get to the lobby. So... it's better than riding the elevator every time I have to go to another floor. It kills me to walk up those stairs. I can hardly catch my breath by the time I get to the top and my legs feel like cement blocks. But, one day I would imagine it would get easier for me.

no, but I do eat fiber bars from time to time and they seem to help. I never have a problem with feeling full and having it stick with me anymore... I just get hungry more often and have eaten way too big of a portion more than once or twice. And I did splurge and go out for breakfast last sunday and it was so not worth the fat and calories I consumed. But I fit in the booth that I couldn't fit into without part of my body smashed up against the table and over hanging on the edge of it. I actually had about 3 or 4 inches to spare.

Well drinking some psyllium BEFORE you eat would help you not want a bigger portion too. It continues to swell in your tummy and it really does help :)

how bad does it taste and what's the texture like?? I am really bad about things that taste bad or feel bad in my mouth. It's the whole "gag" reflex thing. I bought this weight watchers banana bread instant oatmeal and it nearly makes me vomit trying to swallow it because of the texture. But it claims to be healthy for you and is SUPPOSE to taste good and stick by you longer than the other leading brands because it is packed full of protein. I don't care for the taste of it, but I choke it down every so often when I'm hungry after work and don't feel like choking down a chocolate flavored protein drink when I don't even like chocolate. I wished it came in strawberry... I would like that so much better.

Nancy, get the protein in vanilla. You can add frozen strawberries!

If you can't get the psyllium down, try Citrucell. They have a formula that dissolves completely. Psyllium tends to be a little, er, thick and slick . . . . so if you're not a swallower ;) you'll probably have a tough time with it.
