This is FALSE.

Temperament in dogs is ABSOLUTELY inherited.

This is why we have working lines in certain breeds. It's why pointers point, Labs retrieve, and Rottweilers are territorial.
I agree with this to some degree. I find that temperment can also come from the environment. So it can go either way in my opinion.

Of course it comes from environment, but it's genetic also. Not to start the whole nature vs nuture debate again, but even for humans some mental problems are genetically transmissible.

Mojozen, I think I have a line on another groomer.. someone who is supposedly very good with dogs.. we have decided to let Jamie's coat grow out as we both like him with longer hair, but he needs to be bathed elsewhere as his hair was clogging our drain, so I'm going to check out this new groomer when he needs a bath next..

bubbatd regarding his eyes being kinder, this morning when I was making husband's breakfast Jamie came into the kitchen and lay down in front of me and looked at me as if to say "can I have a pat?" his expression was definitely different.. I don't have a current pic since the one at the bottom, but here are a couple earlier taken that show his moods:

this one says "get this over with and stop bugging me."

this one is "I hate this dumb hairband and I am sooo embarrassed"

vicki - jaime's expressions remind me of two dogs i had growing up. One was my first dog Ruffy who was a lhasa apso, and the second was Sparky, a lhasa apso/poodle mix... very similar. He is very beautiful... thank you for sharing the pictures. :)

yes he had a haircut a month ago, really short.. we will not be doing that again, it was an experiment that didn't look good on him.
