Of course, being Dekka's mom's hubby, I don't hear prices. But as far as her charging enough to make a profit, these leads would never sell if you were to charge what it takes to make them, the time factor is too high, on top of materials to boot. I've done lots of leather work before, OC has been quizzing me on some aspects of it. I'll hazard a guess of at least two hours a piece, if you were to figure in actual costs per hour for that, with materials, $100 a leash might break even.
As simple as it looks, it's time consuming to do leather work. Long strips (like used in leashes) are also expensive, because they have to come out of certain areas of the hide, making the rest of it limited in what it can be used for.
Keep up the good work, you'll just keep getting better and better!
