Just a reminder guys, she might not know better. We all agree that these are bad conditions for a dog indeed, but don't be too harsh about the poster, as I said, she might live in a country where they don't have the same notion of how a dog should live. I'm not saying it's right in absolute, but it might just be a different culture.

I go to another forum where a really nice girl from China posted, and was curious about how life is for dogs here. She posted that dogs are not allowed to go outside there. I can't imagine how it is for the dogs, but for them it's normal , and it's not like they have a choice. So please, keep that in mind before judging.

Fran27....I do agree and I think in this case you may be right. It is hard to step away from our own prospective at times, especially when something we care about is at stake. I guess if indeed you are right, it's a no win situation :(

I'm not judging. People have their own views, countries have their own views. I treat my dogs like big furry royalty, LOL. Not all people do, and it's fine with me if they don't spoil their dogs to pieces - they don't have to - but I see a problem with keeping them in conditions such as this.

Just curious, but it looks like the original poster removed the pictures from her link of all the caged and tied dogs. The Love Birds and the saint puppies being held are the only pictures that remain. Makes me wonder....

Well if she's in San Diego, that's definitely really bad. I wouldn't be surprised if she removed the pictures because of what we replied, I just wish she would give the dogs away to good homes as easily as she removed the pictures  Obviously she's a back yard breeder who doesn't care about the dogs at all.

Screw this, I'm going to post what I think on her guestbook

Even if they did live in a different culture that required the dogs to be kenneled and chained they could still provide more sanitary conditions for the dogs. They could have constructed safer cages that were comfier for the animals. And the dog that was chained could have had a longer chain maybe a better dog house with something to occupy his time with. I didn't see anything these dogs could play with or occupy themselves with, I always leave my dogs with a toy when I kennel them for any period of time so they don't get TOO bored.

I got a PM about this. It was the poster's boyfriend, saying that the dogs were only kept in a kennel after a bath, and that's when they took the pictures, and that that one was broken too. The rest of the time they are in the yard and the house. I just replied what I think, that is that she could have explained it to us, because if it's right it's not a big deal to keep a dog in a cage like this for one hour, in my opinion.

I perfectly understand that people can get offended when they come to the forums, because we are all so passionate, but we're not narrow minded either and we do accept explanations, and I think it's a very valid one, so I don't understand why she got so upset and got rid of the pics.

Thoughts?

I think its also the fact that the puppies are also pictured in the same cage that the adult was previousley in!!
so why would the pups be in there?

I can't say I believe that that is the truth. All the pictures of those saints was in a cage. There was no bedding other than what looks like a very uncomfortable plastic mat, with a shirt and a little bit a newspaper, and the dog is nursing her puppies on that.

I wish she would just come back and explain, that would make things much easier for her and for us. I know it's easy to get offended, but I don't think anyone here is trying to offend her, we're just letting her know what we think. We're dog lovers, and it upsets us to see dogs in these conditions.

Those pups did'nt look so clean to me. I think its a lie but hey thats me most people would'nt want to photograph their puppies in a cage if thats not how they normally live. But hey I guess im just weird or something. Their Birds did'nt look in the best condition either in my opinion. These are just my thoughts on the matter not trying tp upset anyone since thoughts were asked for.

I agree, I would much rather get shots of my dog in the enviroment that they live in. And the fact that she didn't come back and explain herself in the beginning makes me a little more suspicious of the whole thing.

Yeah I agree, that and the fact that she deleted everything instead of explaining herself. I don't know about you, but if I was accused of being cruel to my pets I would post right away to defend myself. The boyfriend hasn't answered me anyway...
