I thought I would start a thread about strange or creepy things that everyone has experienced in life... I just had one happen about a week ago, so that is what sparked this.

Here is what happened...

My brother is into Heavy Metal and is in a band.. so of course I meet a lot of his Gothic friends. I have never had any problems or issues with them. Well the other day he showed up at the house with a new friend from college. I got a wierd vibe from him. So anywayz, we invited them in for a little while, and we were talking about all sorts of things, when all of the sudden, out of nowhere he says..."Do you know what June 6 is? It is the only time that the date will be written as 666 in a our lifetime." This is where we knew something wasn't right.

So anywayz, we all went up to some of our friends for some drinks. I told my brother that he had to stay at my house if he drank any. So went got back home at about 2:30am, and they were both pretty drunk. So I told my brother where they could crash.. but the dude just wanted to sleep on the couch. By this time I was freaked out by him. Keep in mind that I am 6'3" 230lb man, and I was actually very nervous. I started hiding the kitchen knives, car keys, and anything that I thought he could hurt somebody with. I ended up crashing on the other couch in the same room and my wife had went to bed. I just didn't want to let him out of my sight.

Try to imagine a black cloud in your house. There was one in ours at that point. I was freaking but I didn't want my wife to worry. BUT about an hour later, I had dozed off and my wife was tabbing me on the shoulder to get me up. She was crying and asked me to come to bed with her. When I got in there she started to tell me how she just dreamed that demons were in the house telling her to do things. And that it felt like they were pushing on her chest, like they were trying to get into her physically. She started praying and was finally able to get up. She said "I know it's him. He brought something into our home."

So we stayed up until daylight just watching TV because neither one of us could sleep. As soon as daylight came I woke up my brother and told me that he had to get this guy out right then and there...
As soon as he left, this thick air was gone.

2nd story..

When I was 16 , I was staying at my grandmother's house in a spare bedroom in her basement. The only light that I had in the room was above my bed, with the hanging string that you have to pull to turn in on. Anyways, one night in the early morning ours, I heard my door open, but something told me not to open my eyes.
Of course I opened them. There was a man standing at my door, and I could see his whole body except his face. It was blurred out, but he was sort of greenish looking. It was dark and I knew that I had to turn on the light. So I reached up and right before I could pull the string, he waived and walked out the door.
I was so scared that I couldn't move. I stayed there until daylight sitting up in my bed with the light on.
The next morning I actually told my grandmother about it, thinking that she would say something like "Honey, you were just dreaming." But she didn't. She just looked at me and said, "You met your Uncle Max. He was killed 40 years ago, but we think he is still around the house."
I didn't stay down there ever again, and I only stayed in the house because I had to sometime..

Anybody else got any spooky occurrances?

Creepy as in ghost creepy? If so, I've had my fair share. It will always freak me out but I've learned to live with it and except it as part of my life. :)

I have a few but am too tired to tell 'em right now.
Well, ok...here's one. It's not creepy but it's weird.

Everyone in my house was in bed asleep. My daughter was a sleep walker when she was younger. She was about 8 at the time this happened. Anyway, for some reason I woke up in the middle of the night and went into the living room. My daughter was laying on the couch. I asked her what she was doing as I tried to guide her back to bed. She then said something about the red light in the wall. I asked her to show me. She pointed to the electric outlet. I didn't see anything but just in case, I felt the wall. It was hot! When I looked real close inside the "sockets", I could see a red glow.
I turned off the electricity to that part of the house and when the electrician got there the next day, he told me we were lucky the house hadn't caught on fire. Our wiring was ALLL messed up.
It will always be a wonder to me that my daughter got out of bed as she did, when she did and saw that. It certainly was not easily visible.
Luck? Somehow I don't think so.

Next time, the creepy story. :D

I don't think so either.. My sister had a dream that her wood stove was going to malfunction and burn her house down. 2 days later it burned down. Luckily it happened when no one was home, as it was an old farm house and it went up VERY fast..

A friend of mine lives in a haunted house... every morning, around 2am, you can hear footsteps climbing the staircase, walking down the hall and stopping outside her door. Open the door, and there's no one there. It was enough to send me under the covers for the rest of the night.

This isn't that creepy but a bit strange... on vacation last year, we (Sis, Mom and me) visited the Tryon Palace in New Bern, NC. It was the governor's mansion in the late 1700s (the last British governor literally ran for his life at the start of the Revolution). Anyway, we decided to take photos of ourselves at the gates with the digital camera. It was a cloudy, drizzly day. First photo was of me and Mom, then we switched and I took a photo of Sis and Mom.
The first pic shows a white substance in front of the column I'm leaning against. Remember it was cloudy so there wasn't any glare or reflection.

Now look at Mom's face in the second photo...

The only other creepy thing was when we went on a 'ghost walk' in Beaufort, NC. It was fun (and more of a history lesson which we enjoyed immensely.) Anyway, Blackbeard the pirate lived in Beaufort for a couple of years and his house is still standing and still occupied. It's one of the highlights of the tour and the guides tell the usual scary stories of screams heard in the backyard (Blackbeard hanged a young woman), and a bloodstain that won't disappear on the staircase (the young woman's murdered fiancée). It's a two story house, with a front porch running it's length as well as a balcony running the length of the second story. The current owners had those house flags that are so popular affixed to each side of the balcony. While the guide was giving us the history of the house, Sis noticed one of the flags acting peculiarly. There was a mild breeze that night, but one flag blew up into a horizontal position (the other one didn't). Sis watched it for a few seconds, thinking there must have been a gust of wind when the flag suddenly did a 180 and went horizontal in the other direction. By the time she nudged me, the flag had gone back to hanging vertically...

It didn't happen to me, but it happened to my cousin

My cousin's friend had died in a car accident a few nights before. She was laying in her bed, when one of her teddy bears flew all the way across the room like it was thrown. Not knowing what happened, she went to pick it up. It was the teddy bear that had the picture of her friend in the belly.(Like, it had a picture frame actually in the teddy bear(a pretty small one), and her friend's pic was in it.) She set it back down where it was meant to be. She waited about a minute, and it did it again. That is when she ran out of her room and into her mom's.

Also, either her house has some messed up wiring, or there is something going on. If you spend the night in her house, things will turn on and off without anyone touching it. Sometimes her TV will come on and be all fuzzy, or once it actually came on and was flipping through the channels at super speed.

I won't spend the night there anymore, but my sister will come back with some reallyfreaky stories.

I've had really really scary experiences. I don't feel comfortable talking about most of them, but, we temporarily rented a house that the previous owner died in. Note that... we did not know this until we moved out! My family was getting our home built, so we rented this really nice home by a golf course just for 6 months. There was always an eery feeling there. My Dad didn't even want to sleep in his room, he slept in the guest room or the living room usually. I was 13, and it was the summer so only me and my sister were home. She was in her room across the house (it was a huge 1-story) and I was in my Dad's room listening to the radio. I was listening to a station with 50's music. I remember smelling a very wierd odor, I looked up and there was a man in saddle shoes and a suit standing in front of me looking down. I raaaan out and to my sister's room and I was just really pale and terrified. My sister didn't believe me, so we walked out and she also felt a strange feeling. The door was slammed shut, and a large chair from the kitchen (about 40 feet away) was blocking the doorway. We climbed out of my sister's bedroom window and sat out there until my Dad got home! Shortly afterwards, we moved into our new house :p

I also had the strangest Ouiji board experience EVER, I don't really want to re-live that! Let me just say, do not mess with Ouiji boards.

Yeah I draw the line at Ouiji boards. I've never had an experience with one, but I've heard the stories, and it's just not something that I want to play with..

My grandmother's spirit still lingers at the old family home. It's kind of funny...it's basically to the point that nobody in our family finds it odd anymore. Her presence is more a feeling of overwhelming love, followed by the scent of her favorite perfume. She was always a great lover of family and children, but died young (only in her mid-50s). I personally think she wanted to stay around long enough to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I remember one night when I was young, my cousins, sister and myself were put to bed in one of the bedrooms. We were just starting to doze off in the dark when I was kissed on the cheek. I knew who it was, and said "Good night, grandma." She kissed each of us and we fell asleep. We all knew it was grandma, so none of us were the least bit scared. That strikes me as the oddest part...grandma died long before any of us were born, yet we knew it was her.

Now this one was just creepy. In college, I didn't have a car. So when I went home for visits, I usually took the Greyhound bus. One time, the bus was pretty full. I took a seat next to an old hispanic woman who was staring out the window.

As we pulled out of the bus station, she turned and looked at me. She said, "You don't speak Spanish." It was a statement, not a question. That caught me off-guard. I am obviously hispanic, so most people tend to assume that I do speak Spanish.

I said "No, I don't."

She stared back at me, gave an odd little smile and said, "You will learn before you die." Then she went back to looking out the window and didn't say another word to me for the rest of the trip.

I now have this odd paranoia that I will take a Spanish class and die.....

I'm not sure if it was just my over active kid imagination but....

When I was a kid, I was afraid of our basement somewhat. (maybe this is why!) I remember once, I was opening the basement door and as I pulled it open, something ghost-like or skeleton-like was holding onto the doorknob on the other side as the door opened. I never shut a door so fast in my life!

I really want to hear some ouiji board stories....and I still have another story but no time...:D

I am really enjoying reading about all of your weird experiences too.

Our loved ones are always with us. I hate to set an alarm, but every night when I want an earlier start I set a mental alarm. I have very deep involved dreams , but will jump up when I hear the phone ring. At least 3 times a week I hear one ring.... the time I want to wake up. One ring- no one there !

My mom's sister and her friends once went out to a graveyard with a ouiji board. They all got really scared when their flashlights all turned off all at once, and the board started like moving or something. So they all went running, and someone stepped on something. Forget what exactly, but I remember my mom telling me the person had a nail or something all they way through their foot. And people were falling into the graves(reallyl really old cemetary with sunken in graves) and getting so freaked out.

Just hearing my mom tell me the story FREAKS me out... once almost to the point of tears.

I'm a big scaredy cat.

I am sure my house is 'haunted'.. it's quite an old house, over 100 years old (which is old in Australia).

One night I let Harley into the loungeroom with me (he's never allowed in there) and I let him sit next to me on the couch. All of a sudden he started following something with his eyes (nothing that I could see though), and then he started doing a really deep growl. I was pretty nervy at this point (since it was dark and I was home alone). Then Harley started barking really aggressively and whimpering! That truely freaked me out! I went and turned on all the lights in the house!

I've also heard plates (or something like that) being placed on the kitchen bench at night when no one else was in the house, and I also hear people walking around upstairs sometimes (and my step-dad and sister have heard it too).

Another thing, the televisions in our house have turned on and off by themselves before (this hasn't happened for a while, it happens on rare, odd occasions). And my bedside light has turned on and off before.

Also, once my sister and I were listening to music up in her room and I asked my sister if I could change the CD and she said no, and then all of a sudden the cd player turned off by itself! She told me to put the cd back on, so I did and then it turned off again!
