Consider me a Chaz addict! :D I have to force myself to stay off the computer so I can get studying done. Its hard since I spend most of my time at work with the computer right in front of me, tempting me with its high speed connection.

Home? Naw, I like my "neighbours" here better than the ones at home. This is more like my vacation place, my cottage, or my "place in the country". I come here, read, chat over the fence occassionally, and even get irritated with the dirt bikers once in a while. I don't have to get dressed up or even comb my hair, you guys all know I look like Marilyn Monroe anyway, right?

I like chazhound, but I don't consider it a home. It's a nice place to be, but I don't think forums really should be a home. A lot of forums get taken over by one person or group who is determined to hear only agreement, and shut down or throw out anyone who voices any unwelcome opinion. The result is a very homogynous board, which is very homey, if you happen to agree with them, but it's very boring and hostile if you don't.

Why, RD, MOMof2 and Lizmo?

What's on your minds?
For me, it's a few things(I'm not going into detail about it, but if the others would like to say any thing, I am fine with it)....and now really I think of chaz just for learning more about dogs, ect. I have made some really good friends, that I hope to keep, but other than that, it's mainly for dogs.

Yeah, like Jen said, there are a few reasons it's just not "home" anymore..

I'm really not sure. Things have gotten cliquey in the FH lately and it just sort of stings to feel left out of so much.

Maybe I'm too sensitive lately. I've been "burned" a lot in the past few weeks and as a result I've been over-analyzing every little thing... but I just feel like an outsider now. *shrugs* It seems like just about everything is an inside joke I'll never be filled in on, and with my RL issues going on now it hurts more than it would if everything else was fine and dandy.

I'm very thankful for the friends I've made. You guys keep me going.

I think Chaz is a fun place to hang out, but it doesn't really feel like home to me. I haven't gotten to know many people in detail and feel like the people that know each other are already established.

That's how I feel. But I have one forum I go to that I've been talking to people there for years. Since about 7th grade. If I had an internet home, it'd be there. I was forced out of my shell there and into actually talking. I'm a quiet person in rl and rarely put myself out there to talk to strangers.

That and I hardly ever go in the FH.

Yay for blissful ignorance. ;)

I agree with Krisykris.

I have a couple of chihuahua forums that I have been on for a while, and it is really "like home" there. We have about 100-150 members, and have even sent each other little gifts through the mail.

^^^I've had a really bad "fallout" on another forum, so I really try to not get too involved with forums anymore (except for one forum that I'm on now and we are really like a family). I've let my guard down in the past, and people can really screw you over =/

Maybe since I'm used to a forum of people my own age and all of whom have practically 'grown up' together, I hardly see any drama on forums like these. We all know a ton about each other and know history, etc, so when we have a fallout, it's huge. We had a massive blowout, in a chat and on the forum a while back, man that was tough. But it all smoothed over in the end mostly. It did help me to learn a lot about people and what they were really like, though. Kind of makes you sad.

No, definitely not as good as real life in terms of "home". But I have DEFINITELY learned some things I needed to learn about dogs and about the way Tosca thinks. I came here TOTALLY dog ignorant. There are several VERY knowledgable people here whose words I trust. Also, I work from my computer and that can be tedious, so Chaz is a great place for me to click on for breaks while learning something from some folks at the same time. Yes, it is true it is clicky but that doesn't matter to me. I've never been good at joining clubs, I'm kind of allergic to that kind of thing anyways, so I don't let it bother me much. Most sites are clicky, no less so than here, even though sites all try to hide it. It's palpable, really, but since it's not real life in terms of actually "knowing" everyone, it shouldn't really matter in terms of learning valuable things about dogs. ....And if learning and getting some valuable advice is your goal, Chaz is a really good place to go.
