You didn't do anything wrong by being honest, you just should not own a CC in the living conditions you have now. You will be doing NOTHING for the breed and will likely end up with a liability.

If you bust your ass seven days a week to support your dogs but can't afford to move somewhere that you are allowed to have them inside as you would like and can't afford to feed them anything better than a $19 bag of dog food, you might want to reconsider planning to add a dog, particularly a breed like a cane corso who requires heavy socialization, are typically protective and can certainly be aggressive without a lack of proper training (read: should not be left alone outside), and for whom eye problems and gastric torsion are common. They also need regular exercise and if you can't be bothered because you're too busy or it's raining/cold/muddy you should reconsider.

It might be a few years in the future but it sounds like you have a lot of things to get squared away before you should even think about adding another dog. By your own admission your dogs will not be anything but outside dogs "anytime soon."

This just sounds like a disaster in the making. You should strongly reconsider planning on a CC even if it is "a few years" out.

I'm just basically "browsing" breeds right now. My name is not on ANY waiting lists nor have I e-mailed ANY breeders AT ALL. One of the main reasons I'm even looking to join a Schutzhund club is to meet and get the know the breeds.

And I am working hard to get everything in order, I'm about to start the process of getting myself into full time status and paying off some of my debt. My s/o is also currently starting the interview process with a fire firefighting department. We're working on it. And it does suck that they have to live outside, but it's better then nothing or at least that is what I tell myself.

I hate the situation I am in and am doing the best I can. This was just something that gave me something to look forward to and I was excited about it.

But now I'm doubting I should bother thanks to certain people.

I will not feel bad for sending an email to a club about someone. I've done it before and received them before. You read the email and do with it as the club sees fit. BUT at least you have some history. No drama. Just plain facts.

The IPO world is small and clubs need to stick together. Whether it is 1 year or 10 years out. She needs to rethink some things with her current dogs. If you can't provide even the very basic of things mainly time and exercise, then what would make someone think, you could mke it worth with a high drive working dog.

Cruel or not, I am not one that will sit here and just bitch about it on FB or chat etc. I will say something and take steps to make sure that the DOGS are thought about first and foremost. I will also NOT sit by and watch someone who can not handle a certain breed get one and NOT say something about it.

You all think the same things but are too chicken to say something online.

IPO is a way of life. It is not something to be taken lightly. It's a whole hell of lot more than many other sports. Hence the huge dropout rate and the declining number in the sport. It is too hard for most, even the hardest AKC OB,Agility,Disc,Nosework etc. people can't hack it in IPO.

And I wasn't going to. I know better then that and would never do it either, I could be offered my dream puppy right now and I'd still turn it down.

Does this look like my dog hates me and is horribly abused and neglected?
Abused? Not necessarily, though the videos don't really show much of anything aside from a barking dog. Neglected, possibly, but "abuse" and "neglect" are not necessarily mutually inclusive. I do think that not having enough time to spend interacting with and training a dog is neglectful. I do think that barely having the funds to afford quality dog food is neglectful. I think that allowing a dog to breed with neighborhood dogs indiscriminately is neglectful. That doesn't necessarily signify malice.

I won't lie and claim it doesn't disturb and upset me to no end that you boasted a couple months back about shooting a Beagle who you thought belonged to a local hunter. And having personally owned a Corso and other large molosser breeds, I won't lie and say that it doesn't scare me what could happen if a Corso is chained in a yard, left untrained and unsocialized, or allowed to roam. All things you've posted about your current dogs. I also have to question the motives of any breeder who would sell or give a Corso or other large, powerful molossoid to anyone in these circumstances.

Looks like you call your dog dumb for NOT being trained... which is because of you, not your dog.
.....seriously? Are you really going to pick at everything she says and does like that? That's just petty. I call my dogs stupid/dumb/moron's all the time. In a very similar, affection laden voice like she did.

ETA: Maybe there is past history here that I'm unaware of, but I think it very much undermines anything you have to say when you pick at people like a bully.

That still gave you NO right to e-mail them with me TALKING to them about my situation FIRST. You're insane and had NO RIGHT to that AT ALL.

It's not a crime what I did or said and I was honest and I admitted to my mistakes, just because it's not ideal or because you think I can't hack it still doesn't give you the right to ruin something that could have been great for me and MY CURRENT DOGS. I also stated that I was CORRECTING my mistakes but you love drama too much to see that.

I think giving a shot at training with the two you have is a great idea, no offense or joke. I only mean this with sincerity. I wish I knew then what I know now. I could have started Backup better, I would have done a better job with Arnold, hell even Tucker. Start where you are because it will always pay off.

Give it a shot, build the drive! CC are not born drivey, you'll need experience in bringing it out.

I think this is a great contact for you and hopefully your dogs.

They can do with it as they see fit. Usually when our club gets an email like that from another club. We sit down and talk with the person. See if they are truly changing and making strides to be better. If they are, we let them join on probation like all other members. The last person made it through and is still training with us. I didn't ruin anything, you will ruin it if you don't change and make an effort to really be up front and honest with them. Take your current dogs, they could use some more training time with you.

FWIW- I don't think your dogs are abused or neglected and said no such thing.

I'm not being petty. The OP first said they didn't have time or care to train their dogs. Then they said, actually they are trained! Then they show that they are NOT trained. Just doesn't paint a good picture for what she is trying to portray or prove.

I hope it'll be a great chance and hopefully it wasn't ruined for me either.

I do not think your chances are ruined, it's going to be awkward but hey it's out there now, work with it.

One of my best friends was recently drug through the border collie world, stomped and spit on by a big name, when she made a mistake. She's sticking with it and making changes for the better. I have a hit out on the asshole who attacked her but she took it as a challenge to hold her head high and prove to everyone she's the educated, classy, and kick ass dog owner that she is. You can take that for what it's worth.

Trust me, it wasn't ruined for you. I will forward you the email I sent them if you'd like to read it.
Please PM the E-mail.

I'm still hurt that you did that because I was going to be honest with them and they do know a little bit about my dogs. I was going to talk to them face to face and be open with them that way.

Thanks that actually does help a lot.

I was excited to see this out there doing bite work, if he ever got around to it!

Please be aware that most people are always open to second chances. I also hope this prompts you to make any and all essential changes in your life. You can do it and the dogs deserve it. Sometimes some rough treatment can strangely help.

RCs intentions come from the right place for the community, one that you'll defend fiercely as well if you find yourself engaged, at least she was up front and you can now prepare and not be caught off guard. Take it as a challenge to show everyone you're better than they think. :)

It does, I just hate being blind-sided and have already began making changes already since I posted that in the venting thread.

I really want to do better by my dogs, I really do and honestly do you know how hard it is to find dog stuff out here?!?!!

I've been through the wringer with people online. I've been accused of abusing my dogs, neglecting them and lots of other stuff. I know what it's like. The email I sent was not bad. It wasn't a bash muttkip email. It was professional.
