Animal Services

What about calling animal services on this woman? Its been my experience AS is quick to take charge of irresponsible owner situations.

Thanks for posting those pictures, coop!
That's a good idea for one of my old mop handles!

I've carried spray, the only thing is, in order for the spray to even get close enough to the other dog to matter, the dog has to be only inches from you. I don't want an off leash dog getting THAT close to us.

Reggin, my airhorn is bigger than a pop can and it can blow LOUDLY. It just didn't work.

I think I shall try a stick. :D
Thanks, guys.
That very much surprises me. I used it in the house once, to see how well it worked. Bad idea. My dogs took off and hid. LOL.

That sucks, I know how you feel. This lady across the street from my grandma's house inherited a Tosa and the dog is ALWAYS getting out. Went after my Dobe (well grandma's now) that I was walking up the driveway which cause mass choas inside the house with all the other dogs. But I froze because I had no doubt that dog would have came up at me and this dog is a MONSTER (200lbs at least, and luckily overweight). And the owner just STOOD there while I screamed at her to get her f*cking dog. I took my chances and beat the sh!t out of the dog. I know it sounds cruel but hey what can you do??

In our area you actually have to file a written complaint after three calls to AC. We have one guy with four dogs who roam and terrorize those who don't know them. They are all pits without collars.

He has paid hundreds of dollars in fines but does it all over again. All the neighbors like his dogs and so don't want to call AC anymore because they will take the dogs.

Documenting the incidents will work in your favor if you have a video cam--even pics from the cell phone with a time and date stamp will work.

I'd encourage you to file a complaint before an accident happens and a dog loses its life.

If it wasn't totally bad for her training, I'd say get a tight grip on her leash, and then chase that dog right back. I'm sure there are some completely suicidal dogs out there, but I haven't met one yet that will continue to advance in the face of a crazy lady and her crazy bulldog charging straight at them. Plus, it's fun. ;)
