and I have a squirmy wormy next to me.
I'm uploading pics now but it's taking a loooonnngggg time cuz of the dial up. I did bring my puter to the hospital but couldn't get wireless
Fiona is doing really good. The doc is impressed with her. She's very easy going and hardly fusses. All the nurses are in love with her and kept coming in to ooo and awww. lol She is pretty cute. I love her to death of course and so does steve.
I had a horrible time with the c-section though! They couldn't get the needle to go in right the first time. I got stabbed at least eight times in the spine and have a horrible bruise. Steve was awesome through the whole thing. I don't think I could have done it without him. They decided to do the c-section because her heart rate kept dropping (and recovering) on the heart rate monitor. The doc thought that she might have the cord around her neck or under her head. As soon as he sat down and told me that he wanted to do a section I got really worried. He asked me if we could go ahead with that and we said yes. And from there everything happened soo fast! I was poked and prodded and shaved and then taken down the hall and in surgery within 1/2 an hour. Steve got scrubbed up and sat at my head the whole time talking to me and kissing my face. Even though I was numb I could feel when they took her out of me. It was the strangest thing and not really all that pleasant. Steve said he got scared because he thought I was going to die. Right when they pulled her out my pulse went up to 160 and my blood pressure just dropped. I guess I panicked because I told steve he wasn't allowed to leave me when the baby was born. They put more drugs in my iv and then I was feeling better so he went with them to clean the baby up.
She wasn't breathing on her own when she came out so they rated her a 6 out of 10 healthwise and had to giver her oxygen. She bounced back very quickly. I went into recovery and about 1/2 an hour later I was back in my room with my baby. I couldn't raise my head for 12 hours because of spinal anesthesia they gave me which made it very hard to try and breastfeed but the nurses helped me get started. Still working at it though! lol
I don't know the rest of that evening is kind of a blur. I know I didn't sleep but I dont' know how the time passed!
The next day I was stuck in bed all day again too until the late afternoon. They let me up and man was I sore! I had 15 staples in my belly keeping my guts in and everyone kept telling me how good I was doing. Hm. Doesn't feel like it!
Ok some of the photos have loaded. I'll post some here but you can check out more at my flickr account as they load – slowly.
