I'm working on something. Something different that might kinda be a long shot - but maybe not. I can see it happening.

So, if you will, share with me your TRUE and unvarnished experiences with bullying and how it made you feel, how you reacted and what the outcome was.

I was never bullied but my husband was in elementary school. One story that he tells that sticks in my head is when he was in 3rd grade he was reading at a High School level, so he got to get out of class to go to the High School to take classes on Greek Mythology with HS students. He loved it! But all the kids in his 3rd grade class made fun of him and teased him because he got to leave for 2 hours out of the day. It hurt him so much and made him feel like a outcast, so he "dumbed" himself down the next year so he "fit in" and never made the most of his potential, he purposefully got Bs and Cs so no one made fun of him. He wishes to this day he would have continued with his "special" classes and made the most of it. He really regrets and wonders about what he could of done if he had stuck with it.

What's the plan? Got a fantastic bullying scheme where I am working if it's of any use?

Again... can't really say i was bullied much. Of course I had the occassional run in with one of the "cool" girls who always wanted to talk smack to me.... LOL but one time she made the mistake of threatening me and thinking i would back down.... I didn't.

She kept telling me how bad she was going to kick my a$$ and blah blah blah and we should take it outside.... and I said "why waste time going outside... if you want a fight you just found one. YOu can throw the first punch... but I promise it will be your first and last one in this fight." LOL she never bothered me again and neither did any of her friends.

Bullys aren't used to having people stand up to them and when someone finally does... they dont' know what to do.

Wow... it's tough typing this out...

I was tortured all through school, mostly through the elementary/middle school years.

I wasn't born with the most wealthy family. I often wore `hand me down clothes... sometimes with tears and tatters. I even had a pair of shoes with a hole in the toe of them. We were fed, bills were paid...we just didn't have enough for new things. My dad was also an idiot... making an ass out of himself, so we were often the talk of the town.

Anywho... because of this, I was often labeled a "poor kid". You don't even know the rumors that went around about me. Someone said I stole their eye glasses. I was often pushed for no reason, people ALWAYS flipped me the bird. I've had my things stolen, my things vandalized... on and on. Some mean bitches even tried to invite me to a fake "make over" party. They planned on messing me up worse. I still don't know who wrote me the note telling me not to go... but I am glad I didn't.

I never really had friends either. Up until my 8th grade year, I never talked to anyone, never was invited to parties and sleepovers. When I was in the 8th grade, I met a guy named Chris. He was part of the "goth" crowd, and he was the first person to stand up to someone over me... even though he was only 5' tall. He was truly my first friend I had ever had.

In high school, things still went on, though it subsided a little. It never truly stopped until we moved in with Dad my 11th grade year, and started going to Bandys. (Go Trojans!)

I was bullied constantly through elementry school right through middle. It was so bad my mom had to move me to a different city. These experiences caused my sever social anxiety disorder and caused me to try and kill myself on 3 seperate occasions and coming very close twice.

I could never do a presentation everyone would laugh at me, boo at me, or throw things at me. I skipped lunch because I was constantly pelted with food. Once my face was pushed into my plate. Girls and boys alike liked to knock my books out of my arms or push me around. I was constantly tortured. The final straw is when a boy threatened to kill me.

And the reason for all this? Wait for it.............I was quiet and shy. I literally asked a girl "why does everyone hate me" and she replied with "Your too quiet you make it easy".

And though I got away for high school the scars are forever with me. Bullying changed me forever. I hope they all suffer in their lives I hate them all.

I was bullied for many reasons in school. For first through third it was because I slurred my R's and S's and I was TINY. Then I moved to a big city adn it got 10 times worse. Not only did I slur my words but i had no friends, a southern accent, i was a hick, white and again TINY plus I was a tomboy. Then we moved again in middle school and I got picked on for all the same things except for the fact that I slurred my R's and S's because I had finally got rid of the slurring now I got picked on because I was poor and all those things. I was never once in the popular crowd, didnt have local boyfriends for the most part (hated city boys) and never kept the same set of friends because I never quite fit in anywhere but Quincy and Tallahassee. I was told over and over again in middle school and high school that I must be gay and had all kinds of demeaning nicknames that I dare not repeat. Then I moved back to Quincy my senior year of high school (last year) and all the teasing and bullying stopped. I was happy and back with the people who understood me and the people I grew up with.

I really wasnt bullyed all that much - the joy of living in this town. Everyone knows everyone and chances are your mothers are best of friends so it is wise to keep mean thoughts to ones self. None the less there are always "experiences". I remember one chick in general who thought she was "thee THANG" in grade 3. She would build a fort with some friends and then be really snotty about who was and wasnt allowed in the fort. During role playing games (like "house") if she liked you she would dub you a "cool" character like the big sister/brother, if she didnt like you she dubbed you the "gross" characters like the grandma or the nanny/maid. Needless to say she didnt like me...but wouldnt you know after a few months of being mean to me, one day my dad and her aunt were chatting at our school bus stop and here it turns out we were second cousins! She was the nicest person on earth to me after that....hmmmm

I was usually the one who was standing up against the bullies. I used to be the tallest girl, standing higher than even some of the guys (go figure now I';m short LOL) so when I would stand up for a friend, I looked quite intimidating.

I never was bullied in school or life in general, although now it happens on forums all the time ... does that count?

Although I can't say that for my son, he gets bullied in school because of his glasses and his blonde hair. Darn it. It's beginning to be a serious problem, actually.

I was a complete NERD in high school. As such, the tough guys would poke fun at me and such, but it never really bothered me.... Until....

One of 'them' was messing with my in gym class... He was touching me on the face, so I swiped his hand away. When I did that, he sucker punched me in the gut. It just so happend that I was in pretty good shape at the time (hockey) and it did not hurt that much. I was also in a good position, so I 'slew footed' him and on his way down punched him good in the face. Then I punched him one more time and actually broke his nose. :)

I got suspended for 5 days. But they never messed with me again. Sure, they tossed some verbal jabs... Whatever.

Now I know what most of you are going to say... "Violence is never the answer". I don't condone wanton violence, but when the moment is right, somtimes it is just what ya gotta do.

Fire away...

I was the skinny kid with glasses and an older brother who wanted to be cool, of course I was bullied. My brother constantly had his friends try to bully me from 5th grade till I was a freshman in HS. Never underestimate the skinny kid with glasses.

Im with Puck violence may not be the answer but sometimes its the solution.

Once in gym, we were playing basketball and the ball hit me on the head. Startled I moved to the side and the ball came down and hit me on the head again. lol Ok, that wasn't a bullying moment but it was pretty funny.

I got teased a lot in school. I lived in myself. I was a daydreamer and had glasses and braces. In junior high my 'friends' at the time decided that they wanted to hang out with the cool crowd and I was holding them back. They were horrible to me. Wrote me nasty notes and other gross things. They made my life miserable. I was friendless for awhile but hooked up with another group that took me through high school. We weren't that close but they were people and we had a handful of good times.

I really did have some bad experiences but not like what some people here are sharing. It took me a long time to get over it but now I've put it so far behind me that I can't even really bring up too many individual situations anymore.

A few years after high school I was talking with a girl who had hung with the cool kids. I didn't know her well in high school and had never heard of her being a bully. A snob. But not a bully. She said that she felt bad for how she had treated people in high school. That really made me think.

Every once and awhile I have moments where I feel like that awkward teenager. It's funny how certain situations can just throw you back in time. Some things really do affect you forever.

Now, things are much worse I think. Kids carry camera phones and have myspace accounts. Anytime they do anything embarrassing it can get caught on camera and posted on the Net. And girls are much worse bullies than boys. One look can do a lot more damage than a punch.
