ok I know this is slightly off topic, but honestly please do NOT stereotype people for what they wear!!!! Believe it or not, not all joggers wear spandex or jogging suits. I know this may come as a shock but it's true. I have TONS of friends who choose to wear "gangster type" clothing (baggy pants, or basketball shorts in this case, and hoodies) who are nothng but self-respecting, decent folk like you and me. They find it demeaning to be seen in anything but that style of clothing yet they love jogging so they happily run their miles in their daily wear. Heck I probably don't look normal when I'm running the dogs on a scooter and I'm wearing a hoodie with some short shorts on (keeps my upper half warm and my legs which are doing the work stay cool) yet 'when I surprise people as I come racing around a sidewalk corner on a scooter with 2 dogs pulling you don;t hear them gossiping about the possibility of me being some child molester. Ya, stereotyping is deffinately one of my biggest pet peeves!!!!!!
LMFAO give it a rest
no one is stereotyping anything. You really need to simmer down and not yell prejudice because someone says certain clothes aren't things you run in lol CHILL OUT. No one is stereotyping anyone  cling to something else. The post above explains WHY those clothes seem a little inappropriate for running not to mention running through the brush between all kinds of branches and bushes ;) think about it.

Well this thread has been going on for quite a while and you have continually said through out the thead that your dog would not behave that way NOW you are telling us it is just a puppy that you JUST got. So you have a puppy that wouldn't react that way to a jogger. NO SH!T. HE'S A PUPPY. So if you can keep your story straight long enough please explain to me how it is you have only had this dog for a week yet you trained it in EVERYTHING. WOW you must be something special.

I can tell that this thread is boiling and will get locked sooner or later.

If you think that Teddy should not have acted in that way and is aggerssive, pm Sparks instead of posting it and drawing 20 more people into an arguement! If one person contradicts, more people will share their opinoins and then all hell breaks loose. Seriously, don't start an argument and carry it out through pm's as a two person arguement instead of turning it into 10 people ganging up on one person. This is just another way to cause a use to leave the forum and leave other people's feelings hurt. If you think that your post will cause an arguement, don't post it! Remember that everyone can read your post and people can react in billions of ways. If you think your post will aggravate someone, don't post it! You don't have to bring the whole world into an arguement just because you don't agree with that person. Debate all you want through pm's, where no other people can get involved.

P.S., sorry if my grammar isn't all that great I kinda typed it in a hurry

Just one last thing.....

Some say that dogs that have past protection training NEVER act out of turn. NOW THAT is bullsh!t. I remember a few years back when I lived in kitchener-waterloo, an off duty cop was taking his police K9 for a walk in the park and a jogger went by and that dog TOOK off and completely mauled the jogger. So please explain how that happened? Are you going to tell me this dog wasn't properly trained? If I remember correctly this dog had been on the force for a few yearsprior to this incident so there had never been an incident like tha with that dog.

DOGS are NOT people. Don't compare them to how a person would react or how YOU would react to someone who scared you. Although like I said before, if I had been at the front of the line and he was all of a sudden in my face I would have went on the defensive and given him a few shots out of pure shock and adrenaline.

Well, when I saw the length of this thread I had to recheck it ....After reading the 125 posts, I feel you all have a point. Mine would be ...he sensed her fear, she should have put the dog in heel sit position and let the jogger pass. Had she been attacked , she'd let the dog loose . I don't think this will go anywhere . Good doggy under the circumstances. Amen.

but that is what posting on the internet is. people who dont agree with you are allowed to respond just the same. simple fact is, if you dont ever want to hear opposing view points, then dont post :)

who ganged up? if anything, i see everyone here ganging up on canadiank9 -- since he and i were the only two who seemed to feel concerned in regards to this specific situation.

the only people drawing out this argument, are the ones that continue to post repeatedly in antagonistic fashions. some of us were interested in discussing the issue at hand, rather than name calling, pointing fingers, and accusations.

Your legs must be sore...you know from jumping to all these conclusions.

This is my beloved wife, in whom I am WELL pleased.

You have no idea how it warms my heart to see things like this. :) I married me a HOT Canadian woman, with a strong conservative conscience who calls a turd a turd when she sees it. I LOVE it.

Tanya, I know it might be off topic, but know that even though I cannot be with you in person all the time for now, I am with you in spirt ALWAYS. I love you with every fiber of my being.

Others... NEVER, EVER be afraid to speak your mind. Do NOT let "Political Correctness" prevent the TRUTH from being heard.

Hello pot? this is kettle. You're black.

What are you doing right now? pointing the finger away from one and at another.

The point is if you didn't want people to come back at you about the way things are said than you shouldn't be so god **** condescending. You can get your point across without being a jerk about it. THAT is why people have a problem with what is being said. Not because you disagree with them or they disagree with you. You talk to people like idiots and they are going to speak to you in the same manner. DON'T sit there and cry inoccent when the going gets tough. THAT is the problem.

PLUS just so you know you have the right to feel the way you want BUT I also have the right to feel the way I feel. Speak to people the way you would like to be spoken too. NO ONE in there right mind is going to take any kind of advice from some internet chatter who has an inflated sense of self importance or at least comes off that way.
THAT is why this thread has gone down the path it did. Not because a few people had different opinions.

+1

Indeed, freedom of speech is beautiful. Just do not forget it is a 2 way street. It gives you the right to SPEAK, not to be agreed with, heard or anthing else. So, if you say something dumb, be ready to get smacked around... Myself included. I LIKE it when I get trumped because I learn something.

I know, that is MEAN. The truth often is.

Seriously, that is the beauty of internet forums. Free people, freely exchanging ideas. A lot of great men and women bled and died to give you the right to do so. Honour their memory by practicing it.

excuse ME, sparks - but where did i call anyone names, or use foul language, or attempt to do anything but address this in a rational manner while expressing my viewpoint?

it seems to me YOu are the one calling people names, accusing them of things, and acting out with poor language.

if YOU think my words apply to you, then they probably do. but if you notice my statement - i did not indicate WHO i was talking about.

im out of this conversation - there is the maturity level of a high school teenager here, and if you cant discuss things rationally without calling names and freaking out, and no one is even listening, then whats the point.

maybe YOU should learn to read more carefully, sparks. or in your own words - pot. kettle. black.

Sorry I did not mean YOU specifically I mean that side of the argument in general. I should have been more specific. Anyway my point is how do they expect people to react when they are being talked to in such a disrespectful manner. This is for opinions not bashing and thats fine but realize that being condescending is the exact same. I am not the only one that felt that way towards the comments coming from the other side of the argument. Like I said people can get their points across without the holier than thou piis poor attitude. Why would anyone want to take anything seriously when it is presented in that manner.

The pot and the kettle was not in reference to name calling and such. It was in reference to placing blame on someone else. Which is what you did in that post. pointed the blame from one side onto the other side.

Anyway we should all just agree to disagree

again, read my post. where did i say ANY side was to blame - i specifically did NOT state one side was to blame over the other. i spoke about ACTIONS, not sides. i could care less what SIDE someone is on, i care about how they present themselves, how they address others, and such.

people can disagree and remain intelligent, rational, and polite.

I think this thread has come to a point where the OP's point is no longer in sight. I hate having to do this, 'again,' but I am going to close this thread. Arguing over name calling when the OP's point was to let everyone know that her dog did -and in some opinions, didn't- protect her shows that the thread has done it's time.
