...update...
Well, Maddie's 2nd vet appt was yesterday.
The stitches came out of her head, which we all knew was going to happen. It healed quite nicely. In fact, other than the shaved fur, you can't even tell it was there.
Though he said he wasn't going to, the vet ended up taking the button and stitches out/off of her eye. The stitches were really loose anyway because the swelling went all the way down anyway. They were bothering her. Now that they're off, her eye doesn't appear to be bothering her hardly at all
Since its her right eye, the left muscle in her eye has been torn when it came out. The vet said he was afraid of that, its very common... so she is very much wall-eyed right now. The eye itself is very red, and she has a very foggy and obvious cataract. It doesn't
look very good... The vet said she probably doesn't have any sight in the eye right now. There's a good chance she never will again. I suspect that she may be able to see some shadows, but maybe its more of a sixth sense when I try to get a reaction out of that eye...
Only time will tell, and there's nothing more we can do. I still have to put the antibacterial ointment in her eye. Its pretty much up to Maddie and Mother Nature right now, though.
Other than looks, and the eye, she's doing very well. Running around and being her normal, fun self. You can't help but feel sorry for her, though. It just
looks bad. . .
I'm doing okay. When I'm with her, I'm fine.
I'm doing well in my classes - though I have to say I'm a bit disappointed that the college didn't close with all of the other schools because of the cold and wind chills.
I hurt my back at work yesterday, and I have a nasty head cold, sinuses, ears, nose, throat, the works. fun, fun
...Just thought you'd like an update. I'm off to get to a few PM's
