I had to take Sawyer to the stables with me this morning. Since he ate through his crate and I really don't trust him loose alone in the house I had to bring him with me. But since he is still learn barn and horse rules usually when I bring him I just put him in a open stall. It not out of the ordinary for other employees dogs to be at the barn or even the boss'es Dalmatians Penny and Dot.
Anyways I was taking up Delsin when one of the students parents walked into the barn with my boss. She was peeking in the stalls at the other horses until she came to the end of the aisle to the stall where Sawyer was napping. She then kinda spun around on her heels and left my boss mid sentence and hurried out of the barn. I really wasent thinking too much about it until I heard her raising her voice after my boss followed her out of the barn. Out of curiousety I followed them out to see what she was so upset about.
Turned out she didn't not want her daughter taking lessons at a place that "harbored" dangerous pitbulls. Again and again my boss and I tried to tell her that Sawyer was not dangerous at all and wasent a pitbull but a purebred Labrador with papers. But she said that she knew what labs looked like and that my "Pitbull" had a blocky head and was too small (he's around 60lbs and still growing) to be a Lab. She also asked that if he wasent dangerous then why was he locked up? Both of us tried to explain that he was young and until he learned barn manners he would have to be in the stall for his own safety.
I honestly never thought anyone could ever confuse Sawyer for anything other than a lab. I have been looking at him for the rest of the day trying to see how he even resembled a Pitbull or Pit mix .
