Now see, this is interesting. Because I've heard from a number of people that their periods were easier after childbirth.

My mom was one of those people zoom. Hers were so bad before she had my brother that she would pass out from the cramps.

After she hadmy brother her cramps pretty much stopped all together

for me... I don't really get cramps. I just feel like my uterus has been punched and is bruised or something lol. it's hard to describe. I told the doc about it when I got my BC renewed and she said that was normal for a lot of women after childbirth but that the pills should help. it took a few months but actually my last two have been pretty easy to handle *knock on wood*

Yeah I had easy periods when on the Pill. However, this last time I tried to go on BC, the periods were easy, everything else went to hell. So I'm back on the natural route and will have to figure out something else for the anti-baby aspect what that situation comes up (besides the obvious condoms).

Before kids, I never had cramps never knew when the **** thing was going to hit me. After the kids I got cramps, not horrible ones but still cramps. I also get achy breasts, hurting hip AND my knee hurts(?Wtf is up with that one). My mood swings vary and as long as no one in the family pisses me off or looks at me wrong I'm ok.
Thankfully I am safe from it for atleast another 2 weeks.

LMAO I remember last month Brian and I were talking about something and I mentioned that I had started my period. and he was like Oh your period started? I was like "Yeah haven't you noticed I have been unusually irritable the past few days?" his reponse? "uhhhhhh.... I don't actually have to answer that do I?"

lmao he was just joking (sorta) but it was just funny. I didn't ask him to put him on the spot so I could tear his head off when he said yes or anything and of course he knew that. but it was just a funny response and made me crack up lol

Mine showed up full force yesterday too Nolu.

On top of nursing a violently ill fiance and having to sleep on the couch, I was fighting through cramps.

DO NOT WANT.

Still not the worst birthday ever though ;)
*hugs*

Still, until the highlight of your birthday is spending a few hours attempting to paint your bathroom with really bad primer, you don't win the "worst birthday ever" award. :p

Nolu, how do you like the Diva Cup? I've read the "instructions" and it seems kinda scary!
I love it. Seriously, it's given me an amount of freedom that I never had before. LOVE IT. I also find it much cleaner and safer than most tampons (medical grade silicone instead of chemical-laden cloth, no wicking). But I will say the first two days using it was a nightmare. I almost gave up. There seems to be a bit of a learning curve in pulling it out properly, and it wasn't coming right out the second I wanted it to like a tampon does, so I was panicking. I almost gave up, but then I figured out the trick to it, and now it doesn't bother me much that it takes a couple seconds to get it out.

My only complaint is that mine hurts when I pull it out. I have the small size, which has a smaller diameter than uhm. . . a lot of, ahem, other things. . . so I don't know why it hurts! But I have never heard anyone else with this complaint, so I think I'm just defective. :p

As I get older its like I am getting moodier along with it. Cramps are not so bad anymore though.

And I am hoping my horrible acne this week was from hormones and will now clear up that I have started again:eek:

I never want to be on the pill again as coming off of it I had the worst heavy heavy periods. But it was great to have such light ones while on it.

I have been meaning to try the diva cup for years and still haven't.

I tried the diva cup but totally obsessed about not being able to get it out and making a mess when taking it out anyway, so I stopped using it.

I hate periods too.

I am on BC and it makes them much better than off bc, but its still miserable.

I want to try the diva cup, but I haven't because I am not sure about inserting/removing it. Tampons are easy with their little applicator, but I hate them, and I absolutely despise wearing pads even more.

What I originally did was punched a hole in it and stuck a thread through it. The tiny nub at the bottom works for that. Then I could pull it out easily. It wasn't perfect, but it helped me get the hang of it and I haven't used the thread trick since the first period on it.

I'm not squeamish about touching myself... I am squemish about having something stuck inside of me, or having it scrape soft areas on the way, or spilling blood all over.

It's the same directions they give you on the site.. squeeze it out and then grip the nub and pull. But for some reason those directions are harder than they sound! :rofl1: It's not really a "secret" I guess, it's just getting the hang of it. Like posting to the trot. Someone can explain it to you till they turn blue, but you've got to figure it out for yourself when you're on the horse.

Nolu gave good pointers about the Diva Cup. I have one and ADORE it. Only have to remove/clean it every 12 hours, much better for my insides than a tampon, and I save a LOT of money.

It does have a bit of a learning curve. Take the time during the first day of your period to practice a few times. Read the folds on the website and do it as directed. Don't be afraid to get it lost up there, it won't happen.

The first time I inserted it properly, it did what it was supposed to do and sucked itself RIGHT up my cervix and created a suction. I was like "OH CRAP AUGH" but realized that my pushing my vaginal muscles, the spigot came to the entrance with no problem, and I couldn't feel it in there. That's how I knew I did it right, and even now I sometimes insert it a bit weird but I know immediately when I've done it correctly.

Removing it takes a little practice, but again it's no biggie. I always do it over the toilet just in case, but have only ever spilled it once. Now I can pull it out and keep the contents inside without messing my hands at all. THen I dump, wash, rinse and re-insert. :) Easy!

Also - getting a good grip on it helps it you use a square of toilet paper folded over once. It can be a bit hard to grip sometimes.

I will add to my complaints list the one time I accidentally spilled it. . . on the floor. :yikes: That was not fun to clean up. Thank god for clorox wipes, haha. (To be fair, you also have the benefit of not having menstrual stuff in the trash for the pets to get into.)

So this is my question about those things, how do you change them in public if they need to be rinsed out? I mean I see where you could hike your pants up and waddle to the sink to do so but I'm not all that fond of strange women in the bathroom knowing my business...

how do you do it?

Can you move into my house? Please? I'm on depo I don't bleed.. My Mom doesn't really anymore. Only my sister does and between daily panty liners and pads when she is bleeding Cider can't seem to resist these days. It's a constant issue this past month or so.
