I never said they didn't care about her - I think they do, maybe not the way many of us care about dogs but they are at least not dumping her - just that their lack of screening means the dog is at risk. Yes, this person is way better than a ton out there, but that doesn't say a whole heck of a lot.
I text'd once and then called once. That's it. None of the other people I mentioned were "calling for me", they too, wanted to see the pup in a safe place and kept me in the loop since they heard about her from me. *One* of those people would've brought her to me, the rest were either interested themselves or would've fostered her themselves. And yes, I totally understand them turning me down - surprised me since just before it was "if you pay the $80, sure" and "oh and sign a contract", but it does sound sketchy if you don't know rescue or anything except pet homes.
Adrianne, the issue isn't apparently with the puppy, the person I texted with said she was having personal issues s/he didn't want to detail and thus wanted to rehome the pup. Not much I can do to help with that. :\
