I am the luckiest person on the board...my dog has no sebaceous glands...so no doggy smell. That's one of the bennies of the breed. He gets a bath every 2 or 3 months, unless he's been rolling in dead animals, mud, or other stinky stuff. And even then it's with a super gentle puppy shampoo. Before shows he also gets a spritzing with a dilute tea-tree oil solution...shines him up nicely.

I believe Maltese, Yorkies and a few other breeds have "hair" not "fur' and that necessitates a more frequent bathing and conditioning schedule. Imagine not washing your hair for weeks...ugh...

It's a breed specific thing to an extent. My hounds are typically once a month or sooner if they roll in something disgusting. When I show one of course the bathing is more frequent.

I bathe my girls every 3-4 weeks, and as needed (which isn't that common).

I bathe all my dogs once a week with an oatmeal shampoo and a remoisturizer. They all have nice skin and coat. If you do once a week I would reccommend an oatmeal shampoo none of that perfumey stuff. And a good conditioner to keep the skin nice.

JRT are supposed to have harsh coats so no conditioning here. Dekka and Snip or sometimes Zo (sizzle) sleep with me. But even after romping around the farm and getting dirty, they are clean by night time. Their hair just doesn't hold dirt. Now if they roll in something icky, then they get a bath. Other than that its every 3, 4 weeks. Its one of the perks of this breed.

About every two weeks. Sawyer does sleep with me and since he's in the pool all day at daycare, he gets kind of musty-ripe pretty quickly and his white bits get a yellowish tinge to them. I'll follow up with Re-Mo about every other bath and a moisturizing spritz in between to keep his coat from drying out.

Zoey gets a bath when her white turns yellow. :p, Dottie gets a bath onyl when she gets REALLY gross, and Sasha has only had about ..meh.. 3 or 4 baths in her life (shes like 6 years old) and thats only when she rolls in something dead, or gets sprayed my a skunk.

It really depends.. on, er. how doggie smelly they are, lol. So about once a month normally, but when ringworm infested the house it was every few days and then once a week (actually, still is). After they are done with the ringworm treatment- we'll go back to normal- I hope, lol. :)

It's a little more often than once a month - every three weeks or so. It depends on how he feels... his coat starts feeling a little greasy and I know it's time to take him into the shower. He doesn't really get dirty though, even when he goes out to play in the mud!

Ollie sleeps with me but isn't " doggie " . In mud season I'll spray off feet and feathers . Otherwise it's when I see " oil " on walls .... usually ever 2 months .
