Right now I have one vet. If I'm in the Seattle area and something comes up, I'll use a vet there. When I had Lyric and he had various health issues, I used a neurologist from Washington State University who consulted me on his masticatory myocytis, that issue where the nerves cause the muscles in parts of the face and jaw to atrophy. When his liver began failing, he saw a team of vets from a specialty, high tech type hospital in Seattle where he had all kinds of tests and procedures done; ultra sound guided laproscopy, biopsies, blood transfusions etc, etc, etc. And he saw a liver specialist.
So far with these Chihuahuas, I've been lucky and they have been healthy except for Jose`'s knees... so their regular vet is fine for occasional teeth cleanings, one knee surgery and other regular things.
