I've noticed every dog seems to have a special way of greeting his/her family. How do your dogs greet you when you've been gone?

My dogs:

Boomer has the best greeting. he "smiles" very big lol. He only does this with his people. Everytime I have friends with me when I go home, they ask me why my dog is snarly at me haha. Its quite cute though, I will have to try for a pic sometime.

Preston makes a strange sorta howl sound. Its impossible to explain. It sorta sounds like he's trying to say "How are you?". Preston usually does this for anyone that comes to the door, not just us. People tend to respond with "whats wrong with him" lol.

Duke I guess gives the normal dog greeting. He walks up wagging the tail low and his head bent down. Asks for a scratch on the head. Recently he has started jumping for a big duke hug... just with me though (I no I should not let him get away with that) I make him wait until I say o fine, and he jumps up with the paws on my shoulders. Then he sits down and hopes for another head scratch or belly rub.

Umm Peewee usually howls at us. Ivan likes to smile at me and trying holding my fingers in his mouth, grunting and making baby noises.

well I almost never go anywhere lol so I don't get much of a greeting.

But everyday when Brian comes home they run in circles and bark and Beezer tries to scale the half wall lol.

When we go out and they are left in the hallway we come home to both of them standing at the top of the stairs with tails wagging so hard their whole body wiggles... but they don't come down the steps... they jsut wait at the top for you to come to them lol

Benji wags himself in half. Daisy sounds like a wookie. :D Then when we walk in the door she runs up and sniffs and wags, and then she goes back to lay down again.

.. He doesn't. I can come home after leaving Pit there for 8 hours and not even get an open eye if he's feeling epecially lazy. If he's really excited for some odd reason, he'll get up and stretch in my direction then goes back to what he was doing.

I just get barked at. And then when she realizes "oh, it's just you," she goes back to what she was doing. :lol-sign:

Even my cat has a more dog-like, welcoming greeting! ;)

Fozzie flings his entire, 45 lb body into the air around/at me. It sounds like it would break kneecaps, but he never punches or scratches, he just soars toward you and kind of flops back to the ground.

Gonzo rarely ever jumps up. He wiggles and does buttrubs. If he does jump up, he gently places his paws in my hands and licks my chin.

Mabel runs right at me. Stops about three feet away, waiting for me to bend over and pet her. But before my hand can reach her she bolts back into the living room, grabs a stuffie toy and stands at the end of the hallway looking at me. Geez, I wonder what she wants?

This, of course, assumes that there are no deer in the yard. If there are, she doesn't even know I've arrived home.

Haha this sounds a bit like Boomer. He gives a big smile, then to wherever he stashed his tennis ball lol. He's got us all trained pretty well to throw that ball :)

Robby runs free during the day and when I come home, he eats his breakfast that went untouched. It's the first thing he does...besides wag his tail, while he eats said breakfast.

My bitch is in the dog room loose and she gives me a soft whine and pushes on the gate to come out, spins and runs to the door.

My youngest boy is dumb so he is crated. It's like a new day every day for him and life is always good. He is such a sweet boy. He has an incredibly strong rear and his first reaction is always to cry (he doesn't whine often) and then jump up as high as he can to kiss me. Each time he goes outside is like the first time for him...he's so excited and happy it just melts my heart.

When my boyfriend comes over...the first thing Rob does is eat his dinner.

Buster sometimes jumps up, but only on me, noone else. And then does a few zoomies and then comes back to collapse at my feet for cuddles. If I tell him not to jump, he won't but I like getting hugs

Ollie is usually with me , but if I have to leave him in his kennel , he's still chilling out until I open the door . At that point he's more interested in sniffing where I've been than greeting me !

Jumping & wiggling & zooming all over the place...

He isn't supposed to be jumping, so he tries SO hard not to by just being a huge wiggle butt

Blaze also acts as if I have been gone for months...

Unless I have bags in my hand, espeacially of food, then its ignore me, stick whole head in each beg and sniff, then when I think I got him away from the begs, I find a cat in them. As she has to great every one too, and then climb in their stuff.

Dance woos at me, wags her tail as fast as possible to the point that she's almost falling over, and then proceeds to rub herself all over the carpet, lol.

Spring gives me a big toothy grin and makes the weirdest little grumbly noises. She sounds like a chipmunk. She also tries to leap into my arms, as I think she did that when she lived at her breeder's house, but I can't catch her anymore. She's too big!

Keira runs away from us at first, and then runs as fast as possible back and does little play bows and a few circles. She wags her tail a little bit too. Then she just waits for us to sit down so we can pet her.
