Thinking of the next breed of dog I should get, I have gone through a list in my mind and am indecisive, I am a very experienced handler and trainer; just having a hard time deciding as there is so many that fit my specs. Maybe some more brains on the subject will help me choose.

***Specs***

Size: Medium to large

Trainability High

Use Multi-Purpose, working and companion

LOL, CK9 there are so many breeds that would fit that. How about some specifics? Like Orion asked, what kind of work are you looking to do with your dog?

Since everyone seems to be recommending their breed... :D If you're up for a rather intense dog (they're a far cry from a mellow Golden, but admittedly not as psycho as they are made out to be) a Border Collie is highly trainable and very versatile. I see them working in schutzhund, SAR, obedience, agility, as service dogs and as herders. They're medium sized, although size in the breed varies greatly as I have seen some 60-70lb Border Collies and then smaller ones like my boy, who are just barely 40lbs.
They're amazing working dogs - even my puppy works his heart out for me - and very sensitive and intelligent companions as well. They're just a little different from most dogs, and it takes some getting used to.

Heheh, Fila . . . Canadian said he wanted "high trainability," so you and I both know a Fila is out . . . although the Fila does require a highly trainable human ;)
