We just obtained two new dogs from two different shelters. We adopted the first one, a 7 month old terrier mix, from a shelter two weeks ago. He's a very active, feisty little guy about 19 lbs. He is always wanting to play and be wild. Well, today we adopted a second dog, a 2 year old pomeranian mix, about 8 lbs, who seems to be very quiet and content with laying around. The 7 month old has been neutered for awhile now. The 2 year old pom was neutered two days ago. Now to the problem:
The 7 month old just wants to play with the pom. He dances around him, follows him everywhere and just can't seem to get enough. He's about double the size of the pomeranian and sometimes he can play rather roughly. The pom, however, just wants to hump the puppy. I'm not sure if it's a dominance thing or if he's just confused(he has his.. "boy parts" sticking out during this). I'm worried he'll hurt himself since he was just neutered and the cuts are still fresh. The puppy just bounces around trying to get away from the pom while he's doing this. The pom just will not stop at it. I've started to just use the spray bottle on him to get him off, this works, but the puppy won't stay away from him and he starts it up again. Will this behavior subside a little more with time, I'm assuming his hormones are still a little off due to the neuter being so recent. I'm just afraid he'll open his stitches or become injured in all this.
