BB...you make me feel like dancing too. Here, ya need a partner? I'll sacrifice him for you.

Yup...another newbie...just as predicted in a pm to me by Toscasmom. We'll get entire troops in here before long unless we follow Jess's advice. But this could be turned into fun, what with all the dancing and carousing.

No one with sick dogs should bother to post for help?
No, they should go see a vet. See...veterinarians have gone to school for a long time to study medicine. We haven't. They're the best bet for a seriously ill puppy.

I'm not really a newbie but I have not posted here in a long time and I don't remember my log in. It seems you all enjoy ripping people on this forum.
As for veterinarians sure there are good ones and bad ones and sometimes going to a vet will give you the results this person has received , they don't know! Thats why she came here to get help from someone that may know a thing or two and obviously she was sadly mistaken if she thought any of you would know anything or have compassion for her situation.

how about we sing a new song I have learned...

*sings*

Be a troll! Be a troll!
Let disruption be your goal -
Anything that you can do to draw attention to your role
Egoboo can be nice
Get your fix at any price
You can make entire newsgroups into clucking little birdcoops

Be a troll! Be a troll!
Pound their patience into coal
Tell the regulars they have no sense of flair
Insult their mothers too and their manners, pfoo!
-Be a troll, be a troll, be a troll!

Make them burn, make them freeze
Sing of people scratching fleas
Snigger at the woes of others who are forced upon their knees
Stress and fear, jealous rage
Let them be your guiding gauge
(edited :p not quiet family friendly enough)

Don't be small, don't be tame
Show you have no sense of shame
Just enrage them til on stage the heads will roll
You love to shrill out flame, it's all a giant game
Be a troll, dig a hole, you're a troll.

Flaming dues, barbeques
Ought to wake 'em where they snooze
Don't forget to douse the fires with proof 307 booze
(song tangent) : 307 Ale my friends, 307 Ale!
The finest drink that any bar has ever had for sale!...
(ahem) Feed them slugs, feed them snails
Put their legs between their tails
And so what if you are hated cuz their nerves are really grated

When you leave, do salute
give that middle finger toot
And be proud of your achievements in your soul
For you have shown that they are evil in their way
You're a troll-l-l-l, says our poll-l-l-l, you're a troll-l-l-l!
(or, "a-ass-ho-o-o-ole!")

What every you do, don't dispose of the dead puppies. You need to send them off to be necropsied so that you know exactly what is going on. Sometimes if a vet is at a loss for a problem a necropsy done by one of the vet teaching universities can really help you prevent the problem from escalating or stop it all together.

The problem you are describing sounds like a textbook case of fading puppy syndrome or possibly toxic milk, but more like fading puppy syndrome to me. :( I hope this is a joke, but your situation sounds real to me and is a very hard thing to go through with a litter. If it is indeed fading puppy syndrome then I suggest you get some beneficial bacteria in your pups ASAP! Go to a pet supply and purchase bene-bac gel and administer it daily to the pups. It may not help, but some theories suggest it will. You have nothing to lose.

As far as a twitching puppy goes that you describe, that is normal. It is called "activated sleep." Healthy puppies twitch a lot while sleeping...it can look like seizures. It IS NORMAL. Crying and dying is not.

I wish your puppy the best of luck.

If you don't want to wait until morning, and if you have access to a 24hr. grocery you can buy the Nancy's plain natural yogurt and give 1cc/ml per puppy per day. This is what my repro vet recommended for my litter of pug puppies.

Best of luck!

Unless you can prove this to not be a real case of help, I would treat it as such. I have no reason to believe it isn't.

That said, if my Vet wouldn't help, I would find one that would as fast as I could.

May I also ask exactly how many days old your puppy is? Have you taken a recent temperature and if so, what is it?

If this is true then I sincerely apoligize for my behavior. I have seen so many coming on as jokes it is sickening. . Pugalug if you really are having this problem then take showpugs advice she knows your breed most likely better then anyone else and again if you are sincere then I too am sincere in my apology and ask you to forgive my rude behavior. Also place phone calls to all those vets I posted someone can help you. A puppy can go bad so very fast time is of the essence.

my puppy is 3 weeks old and the last temp took was 91.1 and that was at the vet's this evening.
You need to get that pup warmed up ASAP!!!! Find a small cardboard box and put a plastic hot water bottle in it. Cover the bottle with a thin blanket and put the pup in the box with the water bottle. Cover the top of the box with a thin blanket. This will make an incubator. Do not feed the puppy while it is as cold as it is. Nothing will digest. A vet who told you everything was okay with a pup with that temp is nuts. :yikes: A cold pup is a dead pup...you must warm this puppy up NOW!
