YES, what Renee said!

That school officer NEEDS to be aware even if there isn't another peep out of Jake. Better safe than sorry!

You absolutely talk to that school officer first thing, Nancy. If you didn't, and this kid did something at school that hurt someone you'd never get over it.
Oh, don't worry... I will be talking to him first thing monday morning. I'm not going to just push this under the rug. I will take every measure necessary to assure she's safe.

TJ is putting a dead bolt on the back door he came in. He knew how to jimmy a spatchula in between the door and the frame to get the cheezy lock to pop open when he used to live here and forgot his key. Crap.... I'm not sure if he still has a key to the front door now. I guess we're gonna have to replace that lock now... grrrr.

the front door and garage door into the kitchen already have dead bolts ... the back door was the one that for some odd reason didn't have one. That is what he's putting on right now. I wished I had thought it out and just got 3 new deadbolts so they would all have the same key.

The installation of the dead bolt must be giving him a little grief because I can hear him cussing up a storm and even made reference to licking an orifice of his....lol.

Locks are cosmetic. If someone wants in they will break windows or do serious damage to get in. I have decent locks on my place but I always leave them unlocked because I dont want to pay for sliding glass doors if someone decides to come in when Im not home.

Oh my god, Nancy.... That's terrifying. I am SO glad you're okay. I think it would be smart to have Arielle sleep at home, though, as he might harass her at her friends' houses.

Are your dogs okay, by the way? I don't think I saw if you said whether they got out or not....

Nancy, when I was in high school I had a friend, who had some pysch issues, mind you, turn on me. He did numerous things that ended with his file at the local police department a lot bigger, but everyone was on board to ensure my safety- the local PD, the school officials, school security and a teacher of a class that we shared together.

You absolutely talk to whoever you need to ensure her safety at school. Regardless of her age and whatever "toughness" she may portray, going through something like this really rocks one's boat and she's gotta be scared.

Good luck to you guys. ((HUGS))

Psychotic boyfriends (forget about ex) of the daughters who break in are all done, especially if they drive a van.

Hang in there, Nancy. I agree with the others -- you might need to send him a stronger message before this is all over. I know you are trying to be kind and empathetic -- but if he's under 18, the charge won't stick with him and it'll let him know how serious you are.

Clay . . . I'm thinking you got a daughter? :D
Yes, two girls.

Nancy, getting the police involved is best. Not sure why you didn't call when he stood at the front door for 20 minutes banging away. Would have be nice if they actually caught him inside the house trashing the place. Maybe a new boyfriend, someone bigger than this fellow, as in much bigger, like middle linebacker for the football team. She doesn't have to date him, just be friends and he could you jack him up against a locker then stuff him inside and lock the locker. Maybe toss him in the big green dumpster out in the parking lot a few times, kinda sending a message....back off.

Wow I'm so sorry that happened Nancy... I definitely wouldn't feel safe. He entered your space and that was completely uncalled for... No apology of his should be accepted in my opinion. He's wasting his breath even trying. Have you told Arielle yet about his intrusion?

My goodness what a scary encounter nancy. after all that I probably would have just filed charges on his to get the point across. You don't come into someone else's house, trash it and leave with just a warning.

I hope nothing else bad happens and he gets the point to stay away.

I didn't call the police while he was banging on my front door because I really and truly thought he'd give up and just go away. When he came into the house and was so angry... I locked myself in my computer room and he THOUGHT it was Arielle. If I had called the police then.. he would have heard my voice and would have known Arielle was not home and I can guarantee he would have fled my house and went straight to her friend Britney's house which is where she was. I just didn't feel comfortable having him know where she was knowing she was home alone with Britney at Britney's house. Otherwise... I would most definately have called the police once he entered my house without my permission.
