I thought Gwinnywillow had dobes?

Manchester terriers are not dobermans. The standards aren't even the same.

I'm confused.
I apologize for the confusion. Actually the Manchester breed is about 300 years older than the Doberman. I first became besotted with Dobermans. But after things like cardiomyopathy (sudden death syndrome) and von Willebrand's surfaced, I admitted defeat. Plus the predisposition of the breed to Demodectic mange was heartbreaking.

Got a rescue Whippet, and was delighted to discover they have the same love of comfort, and warped sense of humor as the Doberman. And even more so with the Manchesters. And of course you can fit a whole bunch of Manchesters on your lap!!

why?

Is any of that required to have any knowledge about breeding, structure, etc?

But I have no problem answering.

1) none I've bred 2 litters, one had no surviving puppies. The first litter is almost 10 years old, and had numerous health and temperament issues. Nothing from that litter was ever bred.

2) Nope. Is that a requirement for knowing anything about dogs?

3) Nope.

4)Yes you are
I am truly sadden by your experience. I can relate. Lovely breedings...gorgeous pedigrees......AND DEMODECTIC MANGE. Puppies having to be put to sleep at 5 months because of feet so infected they could not even stand up. Breeding can be a heartbreak. I was fortunate with the Manchesters to get some really nice dogs out of really lovely linebred pedigrees. The credit really goes to those who produced the dogs I started with. (Namely Phyllis Andreason of Busy Bee kennels.)

Hopefully you will hit the mark when you breed your lovely young lady!! I mean ya get to the point where there is not much crapola left that life can throw at you and you know it is time for things to start going your way! Sure hope that is the case!

the pedigree of one of her dogs.

i also dont believe she left the board, i thought she was banned?
Impressive pedigree, is it not? Can you tell which type of breeding it represents? Of course if that is Kelly's pedigree, it is an inbreeding now that I think of it. I rescued Kelly's mother from Mary, and Janet was already "expecting"......boy was she expecting. PIcture a 10 pound dog with a 22 1/4 inch waist!!!!!! I personally do not hold with inbreeding. I prefer linebreeding.

It must be a different 85% than I'm used to seeing in the ring.

I got my bitch down to her majors in less than a year in limited showing.

I expect to be done with the majors before the Spring is out.

It is NOT SO that any dog can finish if it does not have a disqualifying fault, and it's not so that anyone can finish a dog.

There is a reason for the term "9 point dog", and there are plenty of them out there.

Gwinny I think you should see a doctor. That cold has been beating you down for far too long.
You are right. But it seems to be easing off. I haven't had to take any cold capsules to breathe today. I just hate colds. But ever since the Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever I seem to be a tad more susceptible to getting blasted colds. At least no here can catch it, lol.

I don't find it impressive.

Definitely too close for my taste regardless of the dogs or their quality.

ROfl...........too close??? Ya can't get any closer!!!! I sure as heck would never do it. Janet was "in the family way" when I got her. Did not know till she kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger! She had 8 poopie pups. They were Sooooooooooo cute!

My second bitch came from New Jersey, and I bred her to Jiggs, her uncle. Oh, and Kelly was never bred by me.

Funny thing is some of Mary's best pups were from brother/sister breeding! And the quality was strong enough I guess to remain after several generations of outcrossing. Sometimes some people are just lucky.

You must live in Canada? I have heard the term "reserve champion" around here in the states. I must differ with you (surprise, lol). Anyone can finish a dog. You want me to tell you how it's done? You get all your friends to handle all your "pet" dogs, or pay for them to show their dogs, and make their dogs cut up. You take the points. There actually are some dufuses that do just that. And if you have a breed that does not require 15 other dogs for a major, you can finish any one of your dogs. I believe I did make the statement that if someone had the time and MONEY, yes?? That is where the money comes in!

It makes no sense, but some people are such egotists that they don't care what they have to do to win. Sad.

Only a stupid egotisical person will do that. I cant's beleive you said Canada. Do you really have your head shoved that far up your *** that you would imply that the US is BETTER than Canada?

Im sure cheating has never happened in the beautifull fair United States Of America.

Egotisical=EGOTISTICAL
Beleive=BELIEVE
Im=I'M
non=NONE
ment=MEANT

I would suggest that you take some serious spelling courses so in doing so you can improve your reading comprehension. I will explain exactly what you did not comprehend in my above post-----------9 pointer....we have no such expression here in the states. I was referring to different point system between the two countries.

I said nothing about people showing dogs in Canada. At least get a Spell Check program. "As-U-Type" is an excellent program that also aids in speed typing. I mean, I suck at spelling, but you have achieved a whole new record!!!!!

You should never try to make another person look foolish until you have checked yourself in the mirror!!!!

That was excellent, Blue! Not true but clever. And congrats on the improvement in your spelling. It is noted and appreciated.

I said nothing about people showing dogs in Canada. I can tell you one thing......you are not a shining example of the school system! At least get a Spell Check program. Or is your head so far up that you can't see to spell? I mean, I suck at spelling, but you have achieved a whole new record!!!!! And since you can't dig subtlety the word is MEANT, not ment.
She spells better than many if not most US High School students Ive seen. So you can take your subtlety and put it with your ego where your head is, where the sun dont shine.

All right, smarty pants!!!!! YOU take two Equate gel Cold Capsules and see what YOUR fingers come out with, rofl.

Let's see if you can get this correctly---if you were explaining to someone that in the English language we have the words two, too and to, how would you spell it, telling them that there are 3 ****** In the English language?

Well, if YOU are an example of the spelling ability of U.S. students, I have to agree with you. Haven't you seen any of the programs on the Dumbing Down of America? And how long did it take you to look up the definition of subtlety? Or did you even look it up, lol.

Someday if you get to college, you will learn that we all have ego. Along with the ID, and the SUPEREGO. Only way ya won't have ego is if you have suffered brain damage, or are dead! EGO is healthy!!!!!

Actually too much ego is not healthy, look at body builders or supermodels. In the intellectual sence to much ego can be unhealthy as well and act as a hinderence to further learning.

Feel free to stroke you own ego and correct my spelling and grammer.

Zoom had some great tips on keeping these dogs from jumping up on people, what are you training tips there?
