Update : Ollie has been great, but he sure is a pistol !!! I'm not used to wastebasket robbers, table surfers, stick chewers etc.! My house has gone from an adult dog house to a toddler's house !! EVERY toy gets taken out of basket daily... both futons are fair game. He does love the cage which he's locked in only when I'm gone... but I leave the door opened, so he does like to go in on his own. He's great in the car, and sleeps like a log on my bed . So far only the opened animals are gutted. He's learning " mine" ... and is better about giving up Kleenex etc. Has never growled... barks only at other dogs barking. He's trying sooooooooo hard. Has never had an accident . When I've let him outside, he won't bark to come back in... and with this heat I really have to watch how long he's been out. Chip always gave one bark to come back in. Basically, he's a young lover whose helped me so . He's going to meet his vets next week, as I like to have his records etc in their computer in case we have a problem. At that point I'll muster up the courage to pick up my Chip's ashes and pay the $710. bill. Sigh . My vet sent a beautiful card and the results of the autopsy she did on her own.....he was riddled with cancer............ I really don't know why he never showed me ANY signs until he didn't want to eat..... even at that, he was his own sweet self.5 days later...he was gone. I miss him so, but so thankful for Ollie.
