Meh... there wasn't really much to "play" me on. but I disagree that they can't be changed. I think once someone is on the defensive they aren't going to calm down until you do something to help get their defenses down. take them off of the defensive.
Just like an irate customer. They come in with the idea that they are going to go up one side of you and down the other. but you just keep smiling and saying "wow sir I'm so sorry that happened to you. what can I DO to help you out" more times than not they are taken off the defensive and realize you aren't out to get them.
NOW that's not true all the time lol there are people who there is just no reasoning with, like the customer I posted about in the fire hydrant who was likely just trying to scam me out of my product and my money... BTW I kept the money and they kept the product when they realized Paypal wasn't going to award them everything.
But it's a fun little social experiment

it's always worth a shot to be nice to someone even if they aren't nice back to you. It's a lesson I'm in the process of learning lol and not to be confused with being a doormat.
