Funny thing about CHAZ...

I am not going to single anyone out in case they take it wrong...

but I have noticed recently that there are some people on here whose Dogs I dont even know... I dont know what kind they have, their names, or anything about them...lol.

These are people who are on very frequently... I know a lot of other stuff about them but nothing about their dog.

So that leads me to the question... why did you come to Chaz originally and why do you stay?

I came looking for info on dog food and stayed for all the great info and the people.

So did you all come here for info on dogs? or did you find it some other way?

I noticed this, too, I just go back and search their posts though. There are quite a few people on here with deceased pets.. or who don't have a sig.. or who just don't talk about their dogs much.

I came because I found a dog forum of people with similar beliefs about animals.. who made good choices in food for their dogs (that was a biggie). I would have stayed here even if I never had a dog, I think. It's just a GREAT forum with great people. At the very least I'd make an account and lurk.

I do wish I would have chosen a different username, though. I was so sick of 'Kit' and don't ever use my real name for things, but it takes people forever to figure out my gender, no one can pronounce or spell it.. drives me nuts. (ETA: If you cant spell 'Nolu' just call me Pissant. I always respond to that, and I bet you can remember it. It's what my dad calls me when I yell at him for calling me 'dear' or 'sweetheart.')

I came to Chaz because the other dog forum I was on didnt move as fast as Chaz. There were the same people telling me the same thing about what to do with my dog, when they were making very little progress with theirs.

My dog is Ozzy, he is a fifteen month old Australian Shepherd X Jack Russell cross. He is nuts, but in a (mostly) good way. He was a freebie out of the paper (bad CharlieDog) but he has been a great dog.

My other dog doesn't live with me, he lives with my SO, Apollo is a five year old German Shepherd out of European working lines. I bought him originally for Schutzhund work, but we didn't like the trainers in the area so we quit, and he is a happy couch potato most of the time. The other half of the time he is a tennis ball retrieving stick eating fiend. But we love him!

My soon to be dog is going to be a female Border Collie. We are going to hopefully be doing some agility, some flyball and some sheep herding. I think I have a name picked out for her, but I'm not positive. She'll be coming home at the tail end of May I am thinking.

I like talking dogs, it's a good place for me.

Oh and if anyone needs to know my dogs- we've got Beau the crazy spastic papillon (avatar), Rose, his little half sister, Nikki the old grouchy sheltie, and Trey the shy little sheltie boy.

Nope, I don't talk about my Fatdog much, because... well... I'm not sure. I enjoy talking about her, but because of what happened on another forum that will NOT be mentioned here, I keep quiet on most things. I'm not going to be flamed, then booted from a forum again

I came here to become more educated on dogs. I had just recently gotten Spanky and Bandit. You guys have taught me how to be a good dog owner from what to feed them to how to train them to just listening to me complain when I've had a bad day. I stay because I enjoy the people. They educate me and give me a good laugh. What more can I say? You all are great.

I found Chaz as a result of looking at several different dog forums....wanting to find a community of people who could give some advice, but also just enjoy a common bond..our animals. I too belonged to a different forum and well, it just wasn't what I hoped for. I lurked for over a month at Chaz--decided I should join. I do enjoy talking about all sorts of things..not just my dogs. I think that is part of the charm of Chaz.

I came here because I wanted to talk to other dog people, I had a lot to learn and nobody to learn from except books and forums and my dogs.

I still have a lot to learn. But I'm the opposite of what you posted, I talk about my dogs WAY too much. lol

I joined because I was getting ready to adopt a dog. She wasent my first dog but my first I had had in a few years. I was originally under a different SN but for some reason I left the site for awhile came back and forgot my password. And since I had my new dog and hated my old SN I just started a new account with her name in it.

For those who don't know I have a female American Cocker Spaniel named Maggie May. I talk about her maybe not as much as other members talk about their dogs but I do talk about her. Actually most of my Maggie threads get thrown to the bottom of the list.

Grace (RD) and i have been friends for years, and she turned me on to it in Dec 06. I stay because the people are great, there is always great advice, and I always hope maybe I can offer up some advice to someone in need.

I came because Bronki died and my family acted like they had no idea how to be around me. I needed to talk about him and a few special people here responded like they cared. and Virgo isn't really a dog she is a horse in dog's disguise.

Why I stayed? I like the people, love learning more about dogs, have made some friends I hope to keep for life, and love talking about my dog.

I first came to Chaz a long time ago when I was bored at work. I read some threads and left, because I didn't use to be a big forum type. A long time later, I actually came back and joined, cause the forum seemed cool. I was just looking to learn more about dog behavior. In the beginning I lurked a LOT, but now I actually post sometimes.
