Here, if you can catch the hunter before they return the bones to their hunting spot, you can get the bones.
We've heard all kinds of crazy stuff about giving our dogs the bones - everything from the hazards of feeding raw to "your dogs are going to turn wild and kill every animal they see". We even had a friend of a hunter friend make it a point to let us know that we are risking turning our dogs into unpredictable wild beings that can't be trusted around other animals. :lol-sign:
We have had zero problems and we give venison bones of all kinds.
We freeze our venison for a couple of weeks to kill any parasites, but, it is said that 48 hours is sufficient. With the variety of parasites, I err on the side of caution and try for at least two weeks. Longer if I can keep the dogs at bay.
