Not that I can tell, he's walking on it now instead of gimping around. He was not thrilled with me grabbing it and yanking it out but I did it like a band-aid, do it quick and it hurts less.
I'm still getting the "You're an evil bitch" look from him though :(

No, I have his shot record from his previous owners, he's been to the vet for a major cut before and had a tetanus shot before. Must have been bad because he doesn't have any fur on one spot on his leg so I'm guessing that was the damage, but I'm going by his vets office on Tuesday so I'll find out what the cut was about.

Same here, the nail is rusty as hell too, and yanking it out it had some "drag" so it was in pretty deep. But he seems none the worse for the wear now and is out romping and playing again. Scared the hell out of me after the skunk thing thinking that back leg had been bitten and gotten infected or something though.

Dear God, please let nothing bad happen over the weekend and let this bad luck be over with for now, kthanx!

UPDATE:

Good news. The Health Department and Animal Control called me today - Stinky came back rabies negative.

The benefit of this is not only has my dog not been exposed to rabies, but much more.
You see, I didn't have many available options if he had been. Even though he's been vaccinated once, apparently that is not enough immunity. I have a nice letter from Animal control that gives me the options that would have been available.
A. Quarantine at home for 45-90 days - no trips other than to the vet.
Problem: Moving in like 30 days. Quarantine would be around my small children and other dog - not a good scenario. I certainly didn't want a rabies exposed animal around my kids with nowhere to quarantine him away from them.

B. Quarantine at a vet's office for the 45-90 days.
Problem: with moving I cannot afford a 45 day quarantine at a vet's office (guesstimated to be around $1350 for 45 days), not at boarding prices and I wouldn't have been here to pick him up when it was over. My moving expenses are out of pocket until the military reimburses me - which could be 60 days after I get moved.

C. Worst option. Let AC euthanize and test dog. If negative, euth'ed dog for nothing... :(

So it's a happy day at my home! :D

Phew... I'm glad I never called anyone when we had that raccoon in the house 5 years ago...
I'm telling you, if anything like this ever happens to me again...I will not be calling anyone to pick it up - shovel and a big trash bag and straight to the dumpster.

If I'd had to choose one of those, it would have been home quarantine -- since your dog's been vaccinated, especially. Move in 30 days, take the dog with me and screw AC.

That was what I thought too, but since it's international and they'll be flying, I couldn't pull off the required paperwork, which is a hassle without this headache to be honest - but my mom said that if he was exposed he could NOT come to her house with me (she has puppies that are just old enough to get their rabies vax now) so that left me going "Ok now what?!" Not that mom wasn't being considerate, but she really had nowhere to quarantine him either except her horse trailer. I can't imagine the mess I'd have on my hands if he showed symptoms and had already been imported - something tells me that'd be a hell of a fine.

i used just the peroxide, baking soda, dish soap mix and scrubbed her up twice that night and haven't done anything since. It immediately cut the smell down tremendously from what it was when she got sprayed. It was hard to get out because so much was on her muzzle and around her eyes, but the chest and sides was almost gone right away

her head by her eyes still smells a bit when you put your nose right to it, but just being in the house or near her you can't smell anything now. Even 3 days later she was in the van with us going out of town and occasionally you catch a small hint of it in the air.

That's what I used. Peroxide (whole bottle), baking soda (1/4 cup) and a lot of Ajax dish soap. That helped to lessen the smell quite a bit. However, on another forum someone suggested blue Scope - so I tried it with the bottle of Scope I had at the house and honestly, that wiped the smell right out.
