Gipsy's Worst Acts:

+ Shredded a whole new bag of 20 toilet paper rolls... in about 10 minutes.
+ Gets herself locked in the bathroom on a regular basis.
+ Has eaten 4 Kilo of doggy treats in one sitting.
+ Has eaten around 10 school books.
+ shredded my favorit pair of jeans
+ has literally climbing into our dryer, because there was a tennis ball in there. The only thing that stuck out was her butt.

These things are Phoebe's PAST:

1. Would dig excessively in the back yard.
2. Would chew EVERYTHING, in the house as well as the yard.

Phoebe's present:

1. She still digs on occasion, rarely, but still.
I can't seem to make her use the sand pit.

2. She shreds every dog bed ever purchased.
I don't think she is doing it on purpose,
she "repositions" the bed over and over until
her nails (no matter how trimmed) just shred it

Orson: *inhales deep breath*

1. Trash picker. We have blocked the problem
with our "trash fortress" (wooden bin with lid)
but he is NOT cured.....I know if we didn't have
the bin it would still be an issue.

2. Napkin, toilette paper, and kleenex shredder.
He doesn't eat them, and they can be used or new,
he has no preference.......he just likes the fun of it.

3. Toilette drinker. He PREFERS the toilette.
The only water he likes better is bottled spring.

4. Locks himself in the bathroom going in for drinks or TP.
Then barks for assistance. Loudly and constant until help arrives.
Has scratched up the back of the bathroom door attempting to get out.

5. Is dog aggressive, males mostly but little dogs attract his ire too.

6. Will not listen to any training under distractions. At all.

7. Occasionally destroys something that isn't his. IE, soccer ball.
In his defense, it is normally things that appear to be a toy for him and
the kids have left it on the floor.......reasonable IMO, LOL

8. Once in a VERY great while he will poop on the floor. (like 2 x a year)
I think it's a product of holding too long trying to avoid the cold.

9. Will not sit still, hops around and is too excited to get his
leash hooked up for a walk. This takes a few minutes waiting
for him to settle, then he is so excited he gets the shivers trying to
sit still.

I am sure there is more..........can't think of it right now.

How could I have forgotten that Sierra is a shredder of paper products!! She hasn't done it in a while, but holy moly can she make a MESS! TP, Kleenex, wrapping paper, tissue paper, streamers (she found a roll of streamers once. That must have been fun). Not real sheets of paper, but everything else light/flimsy and paper related.

I know so many dogs with this fetish! (Orson included) I think it's like popping bubble wrap for humans or something! :rofl1:

Thunder
- Has separation anxiety. It's not as bad as it used to be when he was younger though.
- Tries to steal the kitty food when he thinks I'm not looking.
- Terrified of thunder, fireworks, gunshots, etc. Even if it's on TV, he thinks it's real.
- Likes to get into the garbage if I'm not careful about keeping it out of his reach.

Scooter
- Has to hear himself talk ALL THE TIME. He barks, he squeals, he moans, he whines, he screams... when he's playing, when he's eating, when he's in his crate, when he's out of the crate, etc.
- A little too interested in the kitties. Despite growing up with them, he still constantly has to be closely supervised with them.
- Selective hearing at times. Especially when he's focused on something, like a kitty.
- Doesn't know when to stop playing. He'll play fetch until he's breathing so hard he sounds like he's about ready to explode... and then want to keep playing some more. There has to be a time limit on all play and running around outside.
- Takes fingers when he takes treats.
- He's an excited pee-er. If he gets worked up over something (i.e., another dog got it's food bowl before he did), he pees all over.

Juno
- Extremely selective hearing. She hears me, I know she does, but it's more like "You couldn't have been talking to me, so I'll just continue doing whatever I want".

Emmy
- She still jumps up. We're working on it and she's getting better, but she still does it occasionally.

Penny
- Still extremely shy, and probably always will be.
- Scared of most everything inside, but outside she's a completely different dog.
- Has a very high pitched bark, that she loves to use when it's playtime.
- Has a bad habit of occasionally nipping me or John on the butt when they're all running around and playing, she just gets over excited.

Traveler reeeeeeeaaaally likes tissues...preferably used, since then they are little tasty treats. She always seems to walk directly in my way, --no one else's, just mine! She used to be a trash picker--but that is under control.

Baxter--occasional doggy deposits in the house..but they are usually the fault of the humans! He is a food seeker, although his counter surfing has diminished--he would go back to it in a heartbeat if it wasn't constantly managed. In the past....a door darter! This is much better now!
Separation anxiety--needs to be with his other canine companions--or will scratch and chew through any surface!

Wilson--counter surfer extroidinaire! Chases squirrels with a vengance...in my house (no, the squirrels are not in the house..but he is---running from window to window!) He will jump up at you--and chew on your arm in an attempt for attention. He is unpredictably dog reactive...goes quickly from play to aggression without a real rhyme or reason (that I can figure out).

All in all--not too bad, and I love them all!

Mary..only one and that would be her sepration anx. WE worked it out by having a sitter for about half her life as a necessity, then the rest of her life just because she likes company. SHe can stay at home, she just isn't happy about it.

Victor when he came was housebroken in no time flat but the flailing legs, and hyperactivity made getting and keeping his attention almost impossible. A lot of exercise, and hard training, along with a a helpful hint from CT helped me get him to a state where he could be worked with. T-touch massage was critical in calming him.
Now we are all good.

Pepper, door dodging, running, 0 recall, is coming along nicely.

Ooooooooh! I had forgotten that door darting was one of Phoebe's little issues when we first adopted her! We worked on it and she hasn't done it in YEARS....at least 7 years to be exact :)

Saga: Will abjectly REFUSE to go potty if it is raining or really cold. She now screams in her crate to hear her own voice. (Thanks Ronin ;) )It is getting better but it is taking a while. She likes to cold cock you in the face with her boney head and give out fat lips like they are going out of style. She makes it hard to find someplace to live. (Though that one isn't her fault.) She picked up on of Django's bad habits too: He will shove his nose into our mouth after you have eaten because he MUST find out what you had.

- she likes to puke in the morning if I don't feed her fast enough
- she has a talent for eating things she shouldn't... like a bag of hershey's kisses, a shishkabob skewer, 10lbs of dog food in one sitting...
- she takes fingers when you give her a treat
- she DEMANDS to go outside - RIGHT NOW - when she has to potty
- she hogs the bed
- she doesn't like training buildings. No matter how well trained she is, she "forgets" it all in buildings and turns into a lunatic. BUT she's getting better - she did very well the last time I had her in a trial building!
She ate the skewer??:yikes:
As for the training buildings, it could be an issue of acoustics. Most of them have a nasty echo effect.

Both:
-Chewed the ends off the coffee table
-Pulled up a floorboard on my PORCH
-Pulled up a bunch of my kitchen tiles
-Chewed like 3 inches into my wall in the bathroom
-Ruined the front door by clawing at it when looking out the window
Gotta love those bunny butts :p

The feet issue is a corgi trait.

has literally climbing into our dryer, because there was a tennis ball in there. The only thing that stuck out was her butt.
I need a picture of that!!

Most of you all probably know this, but it took MONTHS to fully housebreak Middie, and only after his neuter did I see improvement on his marking issues. I still can't sleep downstairs on my queen size air mattress (which pisses me off... it's the ONLY BED I FIT IN, dammit!) because he pees on it. He loves it - but if he even remotely has to pee, even a little trickle and I have just taken him out, he goes over to it and dribbles all over it. I have to take him out every 15 minutes to have him safely in a room with it, so thanks to him I'm stuck sleeping in my teensie little bunk bed. *mutter* ETA: there are still rooms of the house he's not allowed in because he goes in them.

Jumping on people.

Loses his brains around other dogs - obedience? What? Sit? I don't know that word!

Barks and whines. Like you wouldn't believe. I can't keep him locked away when I have guests without giving him a kong or something because he whines incessantly, and I don't get to sleep with the cats much because he doesn't like being alone at night.

Loose leash walking. WTF is that. He has no idea. That's the one thing that drives me up a wall.

Oh, and that my kitty hates him. Not really his fault, but it would make life easier if they could cohabitate in the same house and ignore each other. BUT NO. She has to beat up on him whenever possible, and he has to think "KITTY WANTS TO PLAY!" and pounces on her...

She can't be left - ie, I have to nip into a shop... Which isn't a problem, because I don't go shopping with the dog!! But say if I am passing a newsagents or I want to get an icecream or something... She whines and howls and strains.

Ermmmmmm..... She likes eating cat poo?

I don't know, I don't really have any major issues... she's healthy, she's obedient?

Ooooooh yes, one MAJOR one. She hates kids. But as long as she has a toy she doesn't care, but I would never trust her round children, and if we encounter any outside a walking environment she's on the lead or removed from the situation. She likes to WOOOO WOOOO WOOOOO at kids.

As a baby to 1 year old he would take any packages delivered and shred them across teh yard! QVC got alot of returns from us.

First Christmas ate the lights/decorations outside.

For 3-4 weeks as a puppy would cry during the night alot (solved completely after finally bringing him back into my room)

Likes to hump young males, and any female goldens at teh dog park (which is why we dont go anymore).

Is reactive to dogs in his face when on leash (only onleash, and Only when Right up in his face).

He has had NO issues for years, and is just the best dog (well, the leash thing, but i dont consider it a problem).

Dance:

- Barks/growls at people sometimes out of fear. She's improving a lot though.

- A pretty big alert barker, though not as much anymore.

- Gets an upset stomach at least once a week for no apparent reason at all.

- Very dominant with other dogs and feels the need to make it known wherever she goes. She marks worse than any male dog I've ever known, and is very picky about who her friends are.

- She sometimes eats dog feces. Gross! She hasn't in a while though, fortunately.

- It's a constant battle of wills at home to make her understand that she is to respect us and do what is asked of her. She's growled at me a couple times in the last couple months because I made her do something she didn't want to. More NILIF for her is very much improving that though!

Spring:

- Thinks everyone needs a Spring in their life and has no qualms about trying to go home with new families at the park! She adores people.

- Takes forever to potty outside if there's snow on the ground. It distracts her and she just wanders around eating clumps of it.

- I can't leave her in a room alone for even 2 seconds. She'll pee, even if I just had her out 5mins ago. Yet, when someone is in a room with her, she won't even think about doing it and understands to go outside.

Winston:

- Battling an unkown illness that nobody seems to know what to diagnose it as.

- Whines quite a bit.

- Doesn't have much of a recall no matter how much training is done.

- Is too gentle (and wimpy) around other dogs. He won't tell them off for anything, no matter how bad they're picking on him.

Keira:

- Screams at us while we're making dinner sometimes (because she wants it), but not always.

- Gets stressed out in the car and screams and whines and howls unless tied down so that she can't see anything.

- Whines when she's left alone briefly... a bit of separation anxiety I guess.

- Won't leave the other dogs alone ever.

- Steals stuff from the other dogs.

- Will refuse to go outside when it's raining, and if we make her, she stands there and shakes.

- Can't handle being in a class setting. She has no handler focus whatsoever, no matter how hard we try.

- Thinks she needs to do everything at full speed.

Zeus It's a short list. He's my perfect boy.
-Was a horrible chewer as a pup, but got over it.
-Went through a short separation anxiety phase, but got over it.
-Has no recall to speak of.
-Is scared of thunder, but is much better than he used to be.
-Can be reactive towards other dogs.

Voodoo Wow.
- Figured out how to open crate. Added padlock to door.
- Figured out how to pull down collapsible crate walls. Added padlocks to all four sides.
- Figured out he could rip the welded bars off the crate frame. Fortunately, he decided he liked his crate before he pulled off more than four bars.
- Jumped our 4-foot stucco wall. Had to use wood to raise it to a height of 6 feet.
- Cannonballed through the new wooden fence addition. Twice. Literally left a dog-shaped hole in the wood. Replaced wood with rod iron.
- Jumped our 4 ft. gate. Had to replace with a massive, homemade 6-foot gate. Our yard now looks like a prison complex.
- Friggin' dog can still can jump the fence when he wants to. Added tie-out cable to yard.
- Dominance fights with Zeus. Spend nearly $1,000 getting dogs stitched up and doctored.
- Ate a hole in the drywall of newly-remodeled bathroom.
- Does wrecking ball imitation through the closed living room window. Took out both the glass and the screen. Dog gets stitches for glass cut on his leg. Replaced the window. We decide Home Depot and the vet must love our dog.
- Learned that couch cushions are stuffed with foam. Ate half of one cushion. Don't sit on that side of the couch now--the seat is lopsided.
- Taught himself how to open doors (including the pantry). Bedroom doors now barricaded with chairs before we leave the house. Bread is now kept on the top shelf of pantry.
- He realized that by opening pantry door and jumping on top of washing machine, he can stand on his hind legs and get bread off top shelf. Extensive "Pantry raiding is BAD!" lessons follow. Bread stealing ceases. Don't know if he actually gets the idea or is just humoring us.
- Stole leaky tequila bottle of the counter while we were on vacation. Downed the bottle, got completely sh!tfaced drunk and had bad hangover next morning (dogsitter got to clean up vomit). Dog decides he likes alcohol, and now tries to steal empty beer bottles from trash can.
- Decided that we're not allowed to go on vacation for more than four days. After day four (even with a sitter visiting/walking him 3-4 times a day), he threw a crying, sobbing, howling, "Somebody is beating me to death" fit. Neighbor calls Animal Control and reports an abused dog on our property. We get to explain situation to investigating AC officer upon returning home.
- Is afraid of fuzzy caterpillars, automatic trashcans and unidentified lights in the sky.

Houlas. *sigh*

EDIT: Is it bad that every time I look at this post, I have to edit Voodoo's list as I remember something else he's done? ?
