LoL
I've done everything from black to platinum blonde / almost white and bald to butt length and everything in between, and except for when I was bald (all I did was wear hats then) I've always styled it.
I think doing hair is just in my blood... if it weren't for the stupid people I might have stayed in cosmetology instead of becoming a dog groomer. LoL

I don't know what time I'll be up and at em tomorrow as its my day off, but I'll tell you what I think then. I still stand by what I said color choice wise, though. That has nothing to do with your hair tone... that's a skin tone thing. :)

AUG!!!
BOX COLOR!!!!!!??????

SERIOUSLY. You NEED a hot oil and protein treatment *you can get these at walmart, they're near the hairspray. I like Nexus's products*. AND when you go to your colorist, please, for the sake of your hair, let them know that there is boxed color in it. Some chemicals in certain colors used in salons can have adverse reactions with boxed colors causing breakage (this is not ALL colors used in salons, however, every product has a different formula) and your stylist will know if their product is one of them. This is more imperative when you're dealing with lightening the color, though, SO if you go from black to a lighter color, you will have to have hot oil and protein treatment upon treatments upon treatments to keep your hair un-crunchified.

Never, ever, ever, boys and girls, buy boxed color.
Iz baaaaaaad.

mine is boxed..

and I think it looks fantabulous...
Looks are one thing, what happens if you put the wrong chemical on top of boxed color is quite another. NOT trying to be argumentative, its just that MOST boxed products have metallic salts in them which react badly with a number of other chemicals and cause breakage or "frying" which is what you see when you look at Christina Aguilera's hair (I love Christina, but her hair is a nightmare).

I advise against this personally. I dyed my (medium/darker brown) hair black once with a semi permanent dye and it NEVER came out. Three trips to the salon later it still hadn't come out no matter what they tried (aside from bleach)

You'd better be sure you REALLY like the color first!

I'm not a fan of dying .... so much depends on your complexion . Especially hard as you age . I dyed mine very dark for about 10 years ( went grey at 25 ) ... glad I stopped as I looked so fake with darkened eye brows and lashes .

I've had black hair several times in the past years, and I am very pale. I like it with pale skin.
