Looking good!
I have been through this with my Lennox, hydration and hugs together with the meds did the trick. Chicken broth also helped us here after ice chips and then some plain rice with gravy.
The turning point for me was when he finally acknowledged I was near him by giving me a half flop wag of his tail and then with continued care he got stronger and stronger.
He will take some time (6 weeks for us) to fully regain his strength.
Slowly slowly with continued care and he will not give up.
By the way, stock up on kibble as when Lennox came through he ate like two horses (he always ate like a horse) 30 cups a day for about a week!

I wish you luck my friend.

Keep us posted.

No typo! Thirty cups a day!
He, as the vet advised us, was ravenous. six cups every four hours starting at 08:00 and finishing at midnight!
His normal amount at that time was 15 cups which went down to 10 for three months or so and now he is back to 15 at age 14 months on what I hope is his final growing period.
He is a Fila from true South American working stock, lean in comparison to most American examples but like his parents will, when fully matured, be fit and agile enough to ride with us through the jungle and will come hunting with us with his older sister.

Costing me a fortune!
(But worth every dollar)

Glad to hear that Dookie is on the mend!

Yey! dookie is 100%. He has been for a couple of days now. We already bleached pretty much the whole house, the drive way and saturday the lawn is getting some treatement. Dookie's got about another 4 days in confinment than our vet said he could go out. My mom took him to the vet cuz i was working, but she told me after the vet saw the report that the critical care center gave us after leaving against medical advice, she asked if he was still alive, and when my mom said yes, she was shocked and said it was a miracle.
Dookie had 5.5 blood cells when we took him, when we brought him home due to finances, he had 900. It was something like 1/6 of the white blood cells he should've had. So the doctors all thought it was unlikely he would survive.
Thanks to sacrifices on my part and my mother and brother, we were able to pull him out of it. All he needed was hugs from his family and care.
I honestly think if he stayed in the hospital he would have died from depression. When I first picked him up from the shelter, I spent the first 2-3 weeks with him 24/7 because I had no job. And to suddenly be left in a cold and quite place all lonely in isolation, I think it would've killed him.
Thanks to all of you who prayed and kept hoping.
