A Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever would be a good one too. Smaller than a golden, but lots of personality.

I have a miniature schnauzer but there are larger ones ie standard schnauzer aprox 18"-20" high and the giant which is about the size of a retriever my Knowledge of spaniels especially springersare they are very boisterious my mini is truly loving and a very faithful companion dog they say giants are very similar to mini's in their temperament but standards are harder to train.
I know of one who has taken to living on a barge without any fuss at all.

like english springer , or english spaniel ????
Or any other spaniel ...
And they always want to be with their owner ...
well will think about pointer ( german or english ) .
Easy to train , very kind , love a lot their owner active , can trip in aanywhere , and they like water ( well it's true not all ) .

I would suggest a spaniel, but remember that several of the spaniel breeds are prone to roaming.
