At first Max was allowed on everything. When we got new couches he was not. He was allowed on my bed and one of my brother's beds. He stayed on mine when he was older as the steps were harder for him (my brother's bed was downstairs). When he got older and slept all day he laid on my bed all the time, when it was my turn I asked him to get off, he waited and when i tucked myself in i invited him back and all was good.

The 3Ms are not allowed on our furnitures. (unless, of course, when they're invited to sit on ME while I'm sitting on the furniture!!).

but don't feel too sorry for them.. They have their own furnitures!. We converted our garage to the "dogs' room" where they have their own sofa & their own beds there. They also have a todler's bed which I lay in there watching TV & play with them every night before they go to bed.. (They all love to play in this bed, but no one likes to sleep here) They have free range of the house/backyard during the day, but stay in the garage at night.

My dogs are sectioned off. For about 16 hours all of them spend their time in the family room (Very large), and the backyard (And stairs that lead to my room). And then for the other 8 hours all but 4 go to my mom's bedroom and sleep in there with her (On her bed with her). And the other 4 sleep in my bedroom with me (In my bed). And the family room has animal friendly furniture. The cats are pretty much in all rooms of the house except only 1 cat is in the livingroom, Dining Room, and kitchen (And that is Paris). And she goes on everything..but I have blankets to protect the couch and chairs from her fur. She doesn't scratch anything..and usually only lies on the window sills, and one chair.

Mine are allowed when invited. Jazz usually sleeps with me at nights since Eric has been working untill like 1 or 2am. The when he gets into bed she tries to push him off. LOL. The cat, well he is the alpha in the house. I listen to him. LMAO.

Mine are allowed on couches and everyone has a bed to snuggle in, It was funny when all the family was away but me and I had all 5 in MY bed:yikes: Usually it shakes out like this: Mindy, Di and Molly(Sometimes with Jen) with us, Max with my son Jonah and Foster with Jenny.

They are all ok with being crated if need be, and none have SA or howl when left alone because trust me if they did my Father In Law would tell me!!!

I have been thinking for a while about what to get for a couch as mine is pretty well toast, and I need a dog friendly one. I was worried Leather would not hold up, but a few here have said theirs have done well?

I could not imagine having allowed them to be on the furniture and then making them stay off because I got new furniture, I understand it is pricey but I would feel like I was punishing them when they did nothing wrong. I personally would rather have old, or buy a used set than make them stay down after they have had years of being allowed on.

Mine go on all the furniture. They used to sleep with me at night before I moved here, but now they sleep in their crate

My guys are allowed on the furniture and beds. Sally sleeps in bed with my mum and Seamus sleeps in bed with me. It's very difficult for me to sleep without Seamus curled up at my side. :)

All 3 of mine are allowed on both the furniture and the bed. They do however have no issues when they are told to get off. I can't seem to sleep unless I have at least one dog snuggled with me at night. I normally wake up with one dog on each side laying against me and one on my feet in the mornings, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Definately keeps the heating bills down ;)

I agree ^ :p

The girls are aloud on the furniture and I never have a problem with it. If I did, they would be off. And its my rule is that they get off when asked - but I only ask when I really need them to, or when company is over or something so they know it's necessary :p

Well, the Battle for the Sofa at my mom's has been well documented :rofl1:

I don't know that I could sleep without Kharma up on the bed with me, and I don't have the heart to let one up and not the other two. Tallulah is a snuggler, and loves to make a nest in the pillows next to my head. Bimmer will get up on the bed for awhile and snuggle up, but he likes to sleep where he can watch all the doors, so he gets down and either goes to his favorite spot near the bedroom door or goes and sleeps on the sofa.

all are allowed on sofas and bed...although they must get down if/when asked. Poor Traveler still thinks she is misbehaving if she is up on the sofa (from years ago--no dogs on the sofa). It takes alot to encourage her to sit on the sofa, and even then it is brief!
Bed time...Baxter is curled up right next to me, and Wilson has decided he enjoys being at the end of the bed. But some mornings after my husband has gotten up..I wake up to two hounds lying next to me--lol!
