Mine never wear them unless needed.
We use slip leads for walks and training.

My chi just wears her collar when I take her out but she can't walk until august when all her shots are out. I don't have her wear it indoors since its not nessecary and she's so small something can grab on to it, I don't have a reason to take any chances .

The only time my dogs don't wear collars (with appropriate tags) is when they work cattle---the risk of getting hooked and injured is just too great.

Boris wears it all the time, except after baths until we walk him again. The reason is that he's a big demon when we try to put his collar on, so we just leave it there.

For Tips, usually he wears it also (although we use a harness for walks for him), except now as Boris managed to chew it off his neck... We need to put his new one on.

The collars have ID tag, rabbies tag, license tag, and we have their microchip tag we need to put on also (when we have figured out which one is whose, lol).

Mine wear collars ALWAYS!!! I leave them loose enough that they can back out of them if they should get caught on something, and only tighten them up when they're on lead.

Instead of tags, I have metal plates attached to their collars that have their names, my phone #s, promise of reward for safe return, and rabies vacc. #.

All 4 of my puffers wear their collars if we are walking, going for a car ride, anything that involves leaving the yard. Their collars have all their tags, rabies, micro-chip, address/phone no., name. They really rattle when they walk. :) :D

They also wear them if I am having company over and there is a chance for escape. ( I have a pool and lots of folks over on weekends to swim) Otherwise, they don't wear them. Lacey and Sandy tend to use them to flip the other on their backs. I would hate to have them get a broken neck. :( I have a friend that had that very thing happen to his Malmute. His Dane was chasing the Mal, and while playing wrestled the Mal to the ground, and that was that. :( it was so terribly sad.

They played like that all the time, but this time was too rough.

and my two girls play very rough. so.. no collars at home unless necessary.

my harley wears his collar all the time!

and talk about crazy, atm i am buying a new leash every week, but he only has one colour and that is his burbury one that he wears at the moment.

harley wears 2 tags at the moment

1. His tag that says that he is micro-chipped
2. a little capsule that has a piece of paper in it, with our name, address and phone number on it

and we are about to order a tag with our name and stuff on it!
