Hi to all

i have been reading up on pitbulls in the last few weeks, i dont think is quite fair that these dogs are banned as it's not the dogs fault that some careless owners train them to just fight. i have a staffordshire bull terrier and a few years ago these dogs were classed as fighting dogs so why was this breed not banned i would love to hear your views.

Thanks Guys

Just do a quick search... you'll find dozens of topics finding peoples opinions on breed bans.

Mostly the answer is that irresponsible owners should be banned, not the breed of dog.

No the dogs should not be banned . People who own them for status and fighting and "" look at my bad boy"" should be jailed in a kennel of their own filth or forced into a ring with the animals they made so mean by means of torture. Sorry folks but if we as a society quit turning the other cheek and fed these evil **** poor excuses of the human being to the dogs they have turned into evil monsters I bet it would stop. There is only one ban in this country I will ever support and that is a ban on " STUPIDITY "

Dogs shouldn't be banned, people should. Stick them on an island and forget about them. Humans are far more evil than dogs could ever aspire to be.

no I dont think any dogs should be banned. Kids and adults really need to know how to approach animals. or not approach animals. Its funny, we have a pit that lives across the street from us. I will admit at first I was :yikes: , then it just didnt bother me. He still barks at us, what do I do. from our yard, or when im getting out of my car, I just say "hello boy" good boy," by boy". you know just like I would say to my to my own dog. LOL he stops barking looks at me and starts bouncing around tail waggin.most times now he just runs up to his fence , no barking. of course I still say hello to him.
would I let my kids just go up and pat him through the fence, no way. but they are not allowed to do that with ANY dog. period.

oh I saw someone walking a pit the other day down my street, he was so gorgeous, he was a beautiful caramel color, walking all proud next to his owner. :)

All of them except the tree-huggers. ;)
Hey whats wrong with tree huggers?! :p I am a tree hugger and proud of it.

On banning Pit Bulls....No, of course not. Banning a whole breed of dog makes as much sense (Logically) as banning all red cars or skate boards or alcohol etc... It is purely the people at fault for bad behavior of dogs.

Although....I think Sal was attacking something last night but when I rubbed his chest the dream seemed to end :p

Don't get me started on banning breeds. It's the irresponsible owners that need education and training.

No banning absolutely (unless you are going to ban single young male humans..they cause far more injuries/death than pitties) :D
