Yup!!! The girls get scraps....I try to limit them but yesterday for Easter they each got 1/3 sausage and 1/3 lamb. They're on raw/kibble right now, so in a way the raw is human food. We're going to be 100% raw soon.

We always give Max & CJ a few bites at least of our food.

Now Max, 34" at the withers, has decided that if we don't take our plates off the table when we're finished, he starts licking away. Max is a character; he will just give you this innocent look like I'm not doing anything wrong, am I?

I give my dogs human food but only healthy stuff no garbage.I`m stricter with their diet than I am with my own. They get table scraps but only when everyones finished eating.A few years ago my older dog Lena got hooked on coffee,my fault letting her finish off all the dregs in the bottom of cups.We dryed her out but couldn`t drink a coffee in front of her for a few weeks coz she`d go crazy for it.I give her decaf these days

last bite usually and i just gave Victor's bowl a sprinkle of sunflower seeds on his kibble to get him to eat it. The same thing doesn't work three meals in a row so you get inventive.

I've always had what I call the " slop " jar.... leftovers to add to next day's meal. Any veggies except onions. Right now I have a left over chicken which I'll boil for broth and pick off the chicken bones. Chip " rinses " my dish and pans for me .....

I feed a home prepared diet, so pretty much all of it is "human food". :)

My dogs always get the leftovers from our meals. I usually scrape it into the bowl, but sometimes I let them lick the plates. I don't allow begging, so at every meal they get shooed out of the room. Course, they think they're slick when they lay just far enough away to be 'out', but can still stare at us. I make them go upstairs if they do that.

Teddy loves grapes, so I usually give her one or two. If we have something for dinner that is suitable for her, I usually spare a bit for her.

Aren't grapes toxic?

My dogs get chicken necks/backs, a variety of bones, heart, eggs, lungs, peanut butter, flax... is that 'human' food or have we been eating dog food? :D

Thet get fresh meat on a near-daily basis, and bites of fresh veggies whenever we eat some. I tend to flick little bits of food to them while I'm eating  (I know I'm a bad mom!) as long as it's not toxic to them, I let them try it.

Yes Pixie gets alittle bit of everything but not too much. Tucker is just getting introduced to the joys of people food but stuff that is easy on his tummy. And Dozer gets people food rarely and when he does it is usually raw meat from my dad.

If it's on the floor, it's a free for all ! I never feed from my plate while I'm eating. House rules....wait ! My fun was when I've had 2 dogs that wouldn't eat peas.... do matter how much they were mixed in with other stuff , their bowls would be licked clean, but the peas would be there !! I even counted them a few times... nope, all were there !

My dogs get all sorts of stuff. I feed a modified raw diet, so they do get the raw meats and veggies alternated with kibble. But I also cook up chicken breast or beef heart (sprinkled with garlic powder) to use as training treats. They LOVE that.

I try to avoid products high in salt and fat. I saw too many dogs (usually little dogs) come into the vet clinic with heart and/or kidney disease caused in part by feeding table scraps. With a little dog, it doesn't take much to overload them. So that's the main caution I'd give to people. The other problem with feeding scraps is that it's easy for the dog to fill up on scraps and not get a balanced diet. That can run into problems eventually too.

My youngest dog is a fanatic about fruit - especially canned fruit. She hovers around me looking up with those big gorgeous hopeful eyes .. who could resist?? *L*

our dogs are 2, 7 and 7 yrs old, of different sizes and breeds and they get fed human food atleast twice everyday.
they get butcher scraps a couple of times a week, and for the rest of the time they have biscuits, they r never fed canned food because it is useless and it makes them sick...
we dont feed them meat or another substantial meal everyday because in the wild, dogs will kill something, gorge themselves and not hunt for a few days
feeding our pets this way is a lot more natural
our dogs have been eating human foods all their lives and none of them have ever got sick.
Interesting, you`ve got me thinking now I might adopt that feeding system for my 2.I`ve always been very dubious of tinned meat but couldn`t afford to give them fresh meat every day,but once or twice a week is ok.Do you think it`ll be ok to just suddenly switch? At the moment they get a can of dog meat each per day and biscuits always available and the odd doggy treat. My older dog is 12yo is she too old now to change? If you have any advice it would be appreciated, thanks

haha we tend to "accidently" drop things on the floor for oakley...but anything we do truly accidently drop, oakley gets to be the vaccuum. He looooves doritos (which we RARELY have in our house anyways) and cheese...he avoids most veggies, lol

he also has a wonderful tendency of sticking his head in your lap then slowly working his way up to your plate with his tongue, lol...

i caught him licking a key lime pie that was for a meeting of my mom's...shhhh....no one got sick!!! LOL :)
