Most people that I am close to know how important my critters are to me. Many of my status updates have to do with the dogs or the cat :)

It is now to the point where one of our non-dog friends will send us info about dog events in town that he stumbles across because he knows that we might be interested in going. So most of my friends and family may not quite get it, but they do not hassle ;)

Yup, but I am obsessed with them so it's fine lol. The only people who say it negatively are my parents, they would much rather me be normal (drinking, having sex, obsessing over boys, clothes, and makeup) than devote myself to animals. But I have social anxiety and no desire to have a boyfriend ever, I don't drink, and I just don't like to do what "normal" people my age do and that doesn't bother ME. So I don't let them bother me. My friends all know I'm obsessed with animals too, but they embrace it.

Yes, but I'm okay with that. I am kind of obsessed with dogs. :p Though I could say some people are obnoxiously obsessed with their kids, too. It's just the same to me. *shrug*. I don't have kids, so I photograph, talk about, and buy things for my dogs. :)

That!

I'm also very quiet in general in RL so my parents only hear about stuff like the dogs because I try not to talk about school or friends etc.

I'm fat, ugly, and i love my dog more than anything in the world... Not someone most people want to be around.
Um, that is totally not true.

Thankfully, I think a majority of my friends find my dog "obsession" a bit charming. They think my dog is cool and the whole agility thing is cool.
That said, I try not to post much on Facebook on the whole. I kinda have a loose rule of not posting more than once a day. If I do post more than once a day, it's not something I'm in the habit of. I've noticed I only post maybe a couple times a week lately... not a lot going on to post about on the Facebooky. I just don't think everybody else is really, truly THAT interested in my random thoughts. That's what Twitter is for - just stupid random passing thoughts, LOL.

Occasionally, but at this point in my life, most of the people I've surrounded myself with, either in real life or online, are people who share the common interest of dogs/behavior/training/dogsports, so nobody feels the need to point it out as they suffer from the same affliction.

I love my dogs. They're my primary hobby. I'm content with that.

oh, I don't use facebook much, I was talking about real life. I do post pictures of my fosters on FB and some statuses about them....I'm also friends with a zillion dog rescues and share a lot of dog articles and things....but I really don't do it often, so that could be why.

My close friends know how important Teagan is to me and would never say something like that, but people who I am not close to anymore sometimes comment how sick they are of seeing pictures posted of my dogs all the time on Facebook. I pretty much tell them to go bleep themselves and if they have an issue with it them don't look at the pictures. Its that easy.

YES! :D Because I am!

I more than often will decline hanging out with friends, because I would rather train, hike, go to the lake, watch movies, etc. with my dogs! :lol-sign:

I think they are used to it by now though! :)

I don't think I've been a "dog person" very long - I always considered myself a horse person who had dogs, LOL, but Quinn has definitely made me turn doggy. I post a lot about her on facebook - ATM my status is about her and my profile picture is of her. So far I haven't gotten negative comments but just because they don't type/say it doesn't mean they aren't thinking it, LOL. I really couldn't care less though - lately I'm off the mind that some of my old HS friends can f off, and my work friends love Quinn. Plus I don't see my aunt much and posting updates on facebook keeps her updated about Quinn, which she really likes.

Yes. Ever since I was 2 years old. Because I tried to live in the dog house and told everyone I wanted to be a dog when I grew up. My sister's ex-boyfriend came back around a while ago and said, "Wow Bre! I always thought you would grow up to be a Golden Retriever and marry a Basset Hound!".

People tell me I like my dogs too much and make constant jokes about it. "It's just a dog", that kind of thing. They act like I should find something else to care about.

Fack em.
